Ive tried all types of bunning and braids- I just want a big long subtle wave. Is there a science to this ? Should I bun on top of my head or at the neck ? or maybe two buns like Princess Laya ? or maybe a rope braid ? reg braiding gives too small of waves.............

It wasn't the best method but folding your hair can give an interesting effect. You literally divide your hair in to pigtails (one on each side) then fold... wait, here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH12exAL1Dg&feature=channel

or this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0yfJh-uImc&feature=relmfu

You might have to experiment a little.
