Do you always do your French braids really tight ? is it bad for hair ?

Because both my grandmother and mother when they French braid my hair ,and that happens at least 3-4 times a week, they do the braiding very tight,and also the braids start always close to forehead,something like this:

Ask that they braid a little more loosely next time. Tight braiding will cause all sorts of problems over time.

Not to mention that tight braids feel terrible!
