It's a little messy, but here's my attempt at Torrin's Bird's Nest updo. (http://youtu.be/8v74PVl2oPE)
We tried birds, but being 11 kiddo's head is small and the birdies looked strange.
I need smaller birds or bigger kids. :)
This worked nicely with her length, she's at tailbone which for her is around 31"

That looks super pretty!! I want to try this, but it would take me ages to do since I can never get updos to look "right"

Thanks for the compliments, she was blessed with hair similar to her dad. :)
I'm very grateful for those who put together YouTube tutorials, especially Torrinpaige.
Hers are very fun and easy for me to understand. :blossom:

Torrin! (if you stop in to admire this): Did no one teach you not to open bobby pins with your teeth? I was taught to use a fingernail on my opposite hand.

I'd love to! I'm having so much fun learning these new styles.
Most mornings the girls just want a simple style, I get practically giddy when they ask for something more. :)
The 8yo in particular has to be practically bribed to wear anything other than a pony tail.

wooliswonderful, I love that your version turned out so much better than mine. :) Being able to actually look at the back back of the head while putting up hair really makes a significant difference! I am also coveting that butterfly clip; you know how I am about these things.

Oh, and spidermom, my best friend's mom (who is a fabulous hairdresser) is horrified when I open bobby pins with my teeth. She has given me very stern talking-to's, but I can't seem to help myself. That is a bad habit that I really need to break.

Thanks again for the compliments, although they belong to DD, DH for contributing the hair genes, and Torrin for the style. :)

You're very kind!
My mom gave me the butterfly clip for my 28th birthday, she's good about surprising me with sparklies. :)
