Natural wax/pomade for spiking hair?

Does anyone know of a natural (like no synthethic stuff etc) hair wax or glue or pomade that can be used for spiking hair? My husband has been using the Got2B spiking glue for this, but I hate all the crap in it. =(
Or a recipe to make your own?

The Got2B product is mostly synthetic polymers and fatty alcohols, so it offers hold and some emollience. This is an effective product for its purpose. A natural pomade would be easy enough to make; I would start with 1 part each shea butter and oil, and 1/2 part beeswax and go from there. It won't offer the same hold without the polymers, and will definitely build up without an occasional clarifying wash, but should be effective. Wen makes a nice texture balm, a little pricey but nice.
