My hair naturally grow at v hem line I can get my hair cut straight and it still does it. I am not complaining I do like my v hem line. I was wondering why my hair does this. Its not split up on the sides. Its something I've had to live with. What is a v hem line caused by? Is it like a fairy tail?

It could be that your hair around your hairline has a shorter terminal length.

I have shorter hairs like this around my temples that just never grow as long as my other hairs. :shrug:

It could also be caused by more wear on the outer hairs due to various environmental factors, even without split ends.

That's basically how fairytale ends begin (by wear and some hairs having shorter terminal growth cycles), but I'm not sure if you're experiencing this, since fairytaling typically occurs around terminal length, which you probably haven't reached, since you state your hair is 11 inches.

ETA: faiytaling can also occur due to infrequent trims, as trims allow slower growing hairs to "catch up" to longer hairs.

It sounds like the hairs in the middle back of your head probably grow faster than other hairs. I know somebody else like that.

This happens to me also. You can imagine how much of a pain it is growing out an extreme V/layered cut. o.o

The reason? First off, the hair on the sides is thinner than the rest on me. I'm also pretty sure it grows more slowly.

My sides are thinner then the rest of my hair. I might just have a natural v hem line due to that factor. I did get it trimmed in may and up on examination my hair doesn't have split ends. It doesn't break off or shed a lot. It just grows v hem line. I do need to update my length. Its about half ways to bra strap length. When it is pulled down straight. My hair is curly from my perm last year. That was prior to joining here.

My hair is the same way. I try to keep a U hemline, but the back grows faster and is thicker than what my sides do/have. :( Oh well.
