Straightening hair without heat; but with putty?

IMO; it would seem just as damaging, since your continously brushing the hair over and over again, with it also having putty in it.
But. If anyone could give me their opinion on this? :P

You don't need the putty or other products to do this. It's just the fan and the brushing that straightens, like the blow-dryer but slower. I brush out my hair periodically while it's drying to straighten it. Same principle. Whether repeated brushing while wet noticeably damages hair depends on individual hair type and strength.
