Was able to snatch up some beauties from eBay the past couple of weeks. There was a huge collection put up by an elderly lady and she chose an antique dealer in Amsterdam to handle the eBay auctions.

It is unfortunate for her that these amazing pieces didn't go to a real auction house, for she had thousands and thousands of dollars worth of indescribable combs, including tiaras with gems (diamonds), precious metals and materials that will never, ever come close to this price again.

Literally, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I was able to pick up six from the first go-round, then 5 more from the Part II, including a most interesting ivory piece. Will post more as I get around to wearing them.

This one today is exquisite: blonde tort, lovely sheen, perfect size for me and the styles I like to wear.

What? What? I can't hear you over the awesomeness of your hair Peggy!

That blonde tortoiseshell is even prettier than what was shown in the listing. I'm so glad you were able to snag it. :inlove: That was some auction. I only picked up a few items and am amazed at the two pieces that have already arrived. This collection should have sold at Sotheby's. Good thing, for the comb collectors of the world with modest wallets, that it didn't.

Ooh, that's beautiful! It goes well with your hair. I'm sad to have missed the auctions, but my wallet is pretty happy about the whole thing. Post more pics as the pieces arrive, please? :D
