I can't be the only one who's fiddled around with my hair only to think, "Wait, I've never seen this on LHC before... is it new?"
As someone who predominately has done ponytails over the last several years, I've started to take a liking to updos. The cinnabun is my favourite at the moment. But I was playing around with my braid and I "invented" this:

The first photo is from a braid I had all day and then turned into the updo, the second two are from doing the updo in the morning and then taking the pictures at about 6 pm. So it's a bit of a curly mess, but maybe you can see?
Then I worried: before I present this as a possible updo for LHC, I should probably test it on straight hair. So I gave it a try on my sister's hair, which is also several inches shorter than mine. A bit more difficult with the lesser length, but still achievable:

I left the tails long on purpose, but it is certainly possible to do this with shorter tails.
I like this because: 1) it's really comfortable 2) it's really easy - you only need to know how to braid 3) it does showcase day 4 curls, at which point only the ends are curly 4) it is kind of messy, but it has stayed securely for me. After taking my first picture, I drove, did yoga, and slept in it, without having to adjust it. The second picture is after a day of school.
My favourite thing, though, is that it's really easy.
Thoughts? Is this some already established style? Is it really ugly and I'm deceiving myself to like it? Anyone want to know how to do it?
