I just got a 100 dollar prepaid visa from work for having great customer service! ( not to brag or anything.... I am just proud.)

And I would like to buy a pretty something for my waistplus thick hair.

I have some cheapie hairstix, but I can't get them to stay....

Suggestions please!!!

Also, my hair is red, for reference.

Weeeeeeeeell, do you want practical or sparkly-sparkly-princess-time? Or do you want to splurge on expensive product?

Or do you need my address so I can make sure the products are quality before you try them? :eyebrows:

Hey, it's worth a try! ;)

Omg, omg, omg. How exciting. I would check out Etsy.com for things. Looks up "hairforks" or "hair sticks" and you'll find a lot of handmade things and seller reviews. I like them because you can find realy nice stuff for super cheap, especially when a seller is just starting out.

Personally, I like thin metal hair sticks. They stay in much better and don't make my hair feel like it's being pulled on like when I use wooden sticks. I have medium to thin hair though, so wood may work better for you. I don't know.

OR... maybe a nice Ficarre? I love mine, though it's a bit big for my length atm. Definately a must have. :)

Oh, and I would totally go for a lime green or bright blue for you hair color. I have red hair as well and LOVE these colors in it. White would also be nice, or a dark purple maybe. :)

I know nothing about hair toys, but I agree, dark purple would look fab in red hair :)

I think a Ficcare would be nice the hold like a rock and come plain to sparkly in a wide variety of colors.

2 sets of Quattro flex sticks. Hands down that's what I'd buy.

Are you looking for forks or sticks? For forks, I'd recommend 60th Street. For sticks, either Nightblooming or Ketylo. :D

At the moment I am in love with Longlocks - totally way too expensive, but if I got a windfall $100 that's where I would spend it! http://www.longlocks.com/

To answer,Flexis come in mini, xsmall, small, medium, large, xlarge[I use xlarge for my lazy wrap bun with no elastic] and lastly mega size.Depending on your length or thickness, large to mega sizes fit all sizes of buns. They have some nice ones with green beads, and some with black ,both would look awesome with red toned hair. For $ 100. you get get quite a collection of different styles and colours.Different sizes work with different styles eg. I wear a xsmall to finish my braid tassel down my back,a small or medium for a half up or half up in a bun,a large for french twist and a xlarge for lazy wrap bun[I have fine medium thick waist hair layered]Check out their website! There is the original flexi 8 website[they do custom orders if you email them] and Lilla Rose Inc. sells them also[no custom orders]My fav hair toys!!!

When you wear a flexi 8 you need no elastics,I use a small or medium for my ponytail with no elastic needed. With buns or french twist you need no elastics or hair pins, just your flexi. They hold well if you use the right size for your hair.

Yeah, Flexi-8s (http://www.flexi-8.com) are amazing clips. They're hairslides with pretty decorative pieces and beads. You have a stick-like thing that I use as a normal hair stick and then a bendable flexi slide that is shaped like a 8 that you slide over the do and fasten under the stick, if that makes sense. And they come in 8 sizes, I think from mini to mega.

60th Street (http://www.60thstreet.net) has gorgeus forks in lots of shapes, colors and sizes, I have 2 and I have nothing bad to say about them, they're, hands down my favourite hair toys.

Ketylos (http://www.ketylo.com) are amazing corkscrew hairsticks that holds like nothing else. They are really easy to use, you just sorta twist them into the bun, like a spin pin. They have 3 sizes, 5, 6 and 7 inches.

Ficcares (http://www.ficcare.com) are amazing clips with true staying power, and you'll find neutral colors as well as blingy k-chingy color and everything in between :) They're expensive, but totally worth it! I I've ever had to redo a bun when I've been wearing my ficcare it's because I've done a bad job with it :)

And, at last, here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWf4ElyLAAE&feature=channel_video_title) a video on how to use hair sticks (and forks). Hope that helped :)

I vote for flexi-8 (a few of them! they have a code "blue-32088" I think it's 10% off or buy 3 get the 4th free). Also, I love LadyIdun acrylic sticks on Etsy. They are lightweight, gorgeous, waterproof, and comes in some really stunning and unique colors- the crystal finish is my favorite.

Kimi and Stacy create some of the most stunning hair toys that I've ever seen and they are very much geared for long thick hair. :inlove: And they are the loveliest people to do business with along with top-notch customer service. :D
