Messy braid pictures

We have the "braid picture" thread ... how about a "messy braid picture" thread? I love the look of messy braids.

Does anyone have any messy braid pictures you would like to share, or tips for getting a good messy braid?

I struggle with messy braids for some reason. My updos usually look neat - or they look like a failed attempt to be neat. I want it to look intentionally, blissfully messy.

I love the first braid.

I tried it and I don't have enough layers and short hairs to pull out of the braid.

I have to wonder if her hair was specifically cut for that style after it was braided ...

Here's another lovely messy braid though. I wish I could figure out how to make my hair look like this. I like the swoopy side pieces and the randomness of the braid.

Soooo gonna have to try that first braid, though I imagine it looks best with lots of layers in your hair.

I was able to do the 3rd one. I had to grab my braid and brush up a little to get it frizzy and pulled sections of the braid to make it messy.

tips for getting a good messy braid?

Sorry, but I just can't resist .... try sleeping with it in ;) that's how mine get messy.

Jaine, you should check out on youtube luxyhair, they have a nice fat side braid, with loose curls around the face you would probably love. I'm yet to do that braid, but i really like it. This is such a good thread, it would work a treat for all of us with layers that love braids and struggle with the "neat, silky, fat braids" that others can do.

I didn't realise at first when I clicked on this thread that the OP meant intentionally messy braids....I thought I was going to see a load of failed braid pictures LOL! (Like how most of my braids end up looking....:p)

These are nice, I'd never thought to try something like this.
