A girl I know asked me if I could give her the directions for a hairstyle I was wearing a few days ago. I have the website where I learned it, but I just remembered that the website has no self-braiding instructions for people who are new to braiding their own hair. Are there any good Youtube channels (or webpages) for braiding your own hair that I could point her towards?

Does your friend know how to do simple braids already..i.e. a single Dutch braid or a simple English braid? If not, it would seem best if she learn how to do these on herself before tackling anything on video.

TorrinPaige (http://www.youtube.com/user/torrinpaige) has loads of great self braiding vids, plus other fantastic updos and other stuf as well. and Loepsie (www.youtube.com/user/Loepsie) is also great with braids and updos.

Good grief, anyone who mangles their hair like that makes my flesh crawl. Her hair sure shows the damage too!

Oh wow, thank you all for all the great links! I think I'm going to be spending my time over the weekend learning some new hairstyles, haha.

Honestly, I don't know what level of braiding experience my friend has (or if she's even planning on braiding her own hair; she's going to be acting in a play and she liked the style for her character). I wanted a few different resources to point her towards... thanks to you all, I think I have everything I wanted :)

I really like this site it shows how to french braid on yourself. I think after that you can pretty much learn anything.
