Wow, that just opened up an entire world of long hair videos I didn't even know existed! Thank you so much for sharing, it has definitely given me an nice extra boost of motivation to take good care of my hair so I can get it to my ultimate goal length (which isn't nearly THAT long, but who knows, maybe once I reach waist I'll get a case of "I wonder if I can reach.....?" :D

Yes, Marianne of Germany has fabulous hair. But I don't think I'd be brave enough to risk my hair in all that wind! Talk about tangle city!!!

Here's a link to my favorite, inspirational Marianne video..just incredible:

Gorgeous! For me, the best thing about long hair is to see it in movement. Before LHC, I wasn't too much into beyond-classic lengths, but seeing the videos and photos that get posted here, I have changed my mind!

Cool! The braid reminds me of Lara Croft from Tomb Raider or a tail or something.

At least she's enjoying her hair. Keeping your hair protected all the time can get a little blah sometimes. Kudos to her.

Ok, I hope this isn't a naive question....but why do people do this? I mean, it's one thing to show how to do hair styles like many I've used for specific technical braids, and am thankful for. But, to just have a video of your hair blowing in the wind and shaking it???? I'm sorry, but....do they not know who would be watching these videos??

I've been rather bothered by a lot of things I see with women who have very long hair on youtube and it makes me ask why?

I guess it's just something that has bothered me for awhile, but maybe these people don't care? (of who/what sorts of people will be drawn to those videos)

With darkhorse on this one.

I personally think these kind of hair videos where people just smooth it, stroke it, and shake it about for others enjoyment are pretty creepy. To me it's like posting "fabulous legs/breasts" then having a video of you smoothing, stroking and jumping about... Pervy when applied to any other body part really.

Thanks for the link, Shelly. I love it when she "fans" her hair. So drop dead perfect. But I do get a slight bit of "voyeuristic cringe" with the way she looks when she handles her braid. I can't blame her for enjoying her fantastic hair..but some of her videos are off putting in places.

Well her hair in the wind reminds me of a meadow of tall, lush grass being blown by the breeze. That is some amazing hair! Good for her. Something my hair will never resemble. LOL. I do find it comical though, when people try to pose for cameras seductively.

Anyhow, they are grown women, not just this person, but many others. They are making adult decisions, I just think they have a lot more to offer than just long hair. Every woman does.

This unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, her hair is absolutely stunning, and it's nothing she's doing wrong, just that it's the sort of hair videos that those ****** people would want to watch probably. However, I say again, that aside, her hair is stunning!

October 2nd, 2011, 09:39 AM
Wow, that is some long hair. I like how it looks braided. Have to say, though, if I ever get it that long, I won't be doing the hair porn thing on YouTube. Someone asked why anyone would do that and I didn't see an answer yet...though some people probably know this already...you can get money from YouTube if enough people watch your videos. I read once how it worked, though it was a while ago, but what I remember is that most YouTube vids don't get many views at all. If your video gets a lot, and especially if you put up several and get people subscribing, YouTube may partner with you and put up either those pop-up ads or even the commercials that run in front of the video. Once you have ads, you start getting a few cents per view of each of your videos. So my guess is she just wants to make money from the people who have, um, interest in long hair for whatever reason. ;) Like a couple of people above have said, she's an adult, so whatevs.

I haven't watched it yet but the one that really bothered me was of the little girl whose mother was taping her with her calf length hair.
It was sad as the little girl seemed bored after a short time but the mother kept it going for quite some time and made numerous videos of her.

I felt sorry for the little girl thinking of the sickos out there.
Her mother should be slapped.

Yes I admired her hair, but did find it a little creepy with the hair porn expression and stroking in the train track video! I also kept thinking, "She's on the train tracks! What if a train comes while she is engaged in her hair stroking?! Get off the tracks Marianne, a train is coming!"

I thought her brush was cool though. Anyone know where to get one like that or the brand name?

I'm sorry, I am not trying to be rude but this whole "OMG! It's hair porn! How horrible!" kind of cracks me up. (Not pointing that at anyone in particular, just in general). I mean, really...there are people out there with a ****** for noses or ears, does that make every video with a face on it creepy?
If she is an adult and wants to make these kinds of videos, so what? She has beautiful hair! Why not flaunt it? Also, why not make money from it if you can? If people are willing to pay to watch it (or if YouTube is willing to pay for clicks), go for it! She seems very well aware of the implications. It sure doesn't seem like she's naive about it or someone video taped her without her knowing.
I think it is rather romantic, myself. She's fully dressed and not doing anything nasty. If someone finds that alluring, so what? It sure beats other sick, sick stuff that exists in this world. I can think of WAY worse things for someone to be attracted to, that's for sure. (Trust me, I would have been thrilled if this was the kind of "porn" I found on my ex-husband's computer instead of the stuff I found!) I really don't consider these kinds of videos "porn".

Also, I am sure there are plenty of people who are interested in watching these kind of videos who are interested in them for inspiration for growing it themselves, too.

Sorry, just had to express my opinion. I know a lot of people may not agree with me, but that's OK.

These kinds of videos/threads pop up here all the time by people who are watching the videos for inspiration, there's nothing wrong with that. Watch them, or don't. Simple.

LOL I find it funny that some of us on here thinks that videos like these are made for innocent purposes. No, not all women are innocent and pure as we would like to hope. ;) [I am saying this light heartedly, not poking fun at anyone here]
as for the "oh my goodness is this hair p*rn?" comments - it probably is. Buuut there are some very.. special.. individuals out there who probably watches the instructional hairdo videos on youtube with questionable intentions too. Has anyone here heard of 'rule 34'? "Rule 34: If it exists, there is p*rn of it. No exceptions."

Lets not worry about the purpose of this video too much, we watch it because we admire long hair not fantasize about it. Her hair is beautiful and inspiring.

gretchen_hair

I don't think anyone here thinks badly of you or thinks that you're a perv. You just saw pretty hair and shared it.

These videos are made in such a way that they aren't out there to share tips and methods and help others to grow their hair or style long hair.

They are made to exhibit their hair so that they receive attention and admiration and much of that is rather creepy.

Not saying this because you are young....but you ARE young and probably just don't see it the way we do.

There was a test one time that had an image that looked like 5 dolphins or 2 lovers engaging in intercourse, when young children asked what they saw, it was always the dolphins. Their brains did not see the 2 lovers because they were innocent and not subjected to that kind of intimacy and images yet.

I think that you honestly just don't see the ickiness that some of us do. The flip, the taunt, the parading, the look in her eye, the sly smile. It's cheesy.

I mean I don't think it's morally wrong or anything.....and I wasn't particularly bothered by it. Maybe a little uncomfortable. I thought the video Kayla Nyx posted was pretty innocent. It was only when I checked out some of her other videos I was sitting there wondering, "Man...her hair is really awesome. But why do I feel kind of uncomfortable watching this? Oh......" I don't care what she does. She's an adult.
My post was about the little Bosnian or Russian girl whose mother was having her parade around in the same manner.
THAT offended me.
(That video was floating around here earlier this year.)

If you read some of the suggestions on Marianne's site there are some creepy requests such as:
Pretend you're on a date with the camara person so it seems like you're on a date with the viewer.
and
Make your hair into a noose and take a video pretending to hang yourself.

This is a beautiful young lady with fabulous hair but she could be putting herself in a very dangerous situation by including her face and personal information.
There are so many sick people out there.

On a lighter note: I wish she would have included her hair care routine.
Her hair is amazing.

Marianne looks to be in full control of these videos, so I don't get the sense of exploitation here. The only thing I get out of it is appreciating a beautiful head of hair and its natural movement, which is why the OP posted it.

Marianne looks to be in full control of these videos, so I don't get the sense of exploitation here.
Right. This is Marianne's website, making money for Marianne in a way she chooses. There are many websites where that isn't the case.
