Conventional hair dyes

I know that chemical dyes are a big fat no no but I'm curious.

I have dark brown hair very close to black. I'd like to have blue hair but I don't wanna bleach my hair AT ALL. How bad is hair dye exactly?

Depends on the level of blue. When I did my hair blue it was medium blonde. Your hair might turn out blue black if you don't lighten it. Any big change like that is gonna cause damage there is no way around it.

Your hair looks awesome!

You can try a straight veggie blue dye ontop of your colour now, it'll come out dark without bleach but it don'tdamage your hair. The bleaching is what will harm it. For a subtle change you could get some blonde highlights then do blue all-over.
