2 Year Anniversary! Reached Mid Thigh! *Pic Heavy*

Hi LHC! :flower:

It's my 2 year anniversary at LHC! I signed up 2 years ago yesterday (and I thought it was today, oops!) I went from having almost unmanageable tailbone length hair to much more manageable and happy mid thigh length hair!

Sorry for the messy hair in the last picture, the wind was blowing! Also, it looks like the top of my head is cut off a little (it gets increasingly harder to take pictures the longer your hair gets). I need to mention that I haven't gotten a trim in over a year, but I plan to by the end of next month - maybe about an inch, so it will be much more blunt after! I'll be sad to lose even that much little length, but I know my hair needs it. With a hair trim or two, I should be at my goal of knee by 1.5-2 years. :eek: If it starts tapering, it will be longer since I'll be getting more frequent trims in that case. I'd rather have nice thick hair ends and wait even though it's tough to wait.

I haven't changed my hair care routine that much from last year but I have finally gotten a seamless wooden comb and I love it! <3 Also, I have been slowly getting my head used to having my hair up more often. It still hurts sometimes, but I can sometimes go 6 hours or more without taking it down from a bun! I have fallen back on some "bad habits" such as using cones and SLS, but truthfully I feel like those things work great for me.

Comparing the pictures from last year and this month, I am a little sad that it looks like I lost a tiny bit of thickness. That could be partly due to my hair ends not being blunt like usual, however I did go through a (normal?) shed last autumn. Most people said it was a normal shed amount and that it only appeared more than it should be because of my long hair but it gave me some anxiety.

Have you tried distributing the weight of your hair when you create updos? It is much easier wearing updos when your hair is distributed over the head than when it is concentrated in one area.

Thank you! I have tried that a little bit, but currently lack some of the skills (or sometimes hair tools) to create an updo like that that looks presentable outside of the house, haha! Your icon is gorgeous. I'd love to be able to do that. I've had great luck with JJJ's pretzel bun here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FT8X4JvQ7s (I hope she doesn't mind me posting a link to her YouTube video). I usually do that but not braided and using 2 jaw clips instead of hairsticks, 2 spin pins and a couple of bobby pins or hair pins. It holds nicely and looks pretty! Hopefully by next year I can find something I can manage that is also more evenly distributed. :)

Some of you have mentioned that my hair is really straight and actually sometimes it's not as straight as those pictures, at least the first 24-48 hours after a wash. It can be have a few waves and occasionally have a ringlet or two at the ends! Sometimes I think it's the weight of my hair that actually makes it straight. Then again, sometimes it is stick straight. It depends on the weather etc., I still don't know for sure if 1b is my hair type but it seems like that a majority of the time!
