hiya guys. Since Im offically 'back' (muahhahahaa!shudder: )
I was hoping you longhairs (and shorties and in-betweens) could help me out.

Im the maid (ok ok maitron...but doesnt that make me sound old? )of honor
in my best friends wedding {giddy giggles} in September and
she wanted us to have our hair done together by a friend. (HER friend,
not mine;the friend is a hairdresser)
I wanted to do my hair pulled back with lots of cascading curls...so not
really 'down', but down in the back enough to show if off a little ya know?
My friend spoke to the girl who said it may be hard because my hair
is 'thick'... (to which my friend replied, no its really soft and babylike- which
I was like...awwww and really? my hair looks thick? lol) to which she replied
it may not hold a curl...blabla.
Im getting the impression shes intimidated by my long hair. No biggie.
My friend suggested (and prefers she told me) that I wear it up like a
french twist with cascading curls on top.
Fine by me. My hair doesnt hold a curl for squat. So now I need help.

I will post some pics as I practice because honestly I need opinions, but
I need help finding some crystal combs or whatever, too.
I looove this style here (http://www.modelbride.com/content/005485.shtml) so I was hoping to get some help with it.
Also, where can I find those combs without spending *cough* 95 bucks ?
I'm searching ebay now.

I think I will french twist and figure 8 it up and pin it on either side with
my ficcare beaks, the only thing thats going to hold all day I think...
Opinions?
Oh and anyone have any suggestions for that lipstick color? its purty.
Thanks for any help/info !

That's a beautiful style! I'd love to see pics of how it works out for you.

Here are some mini combs from one of my favorite ebay sellers for sparkley stuff:

wow thanks for the links Cindy...99 cents is a lot better than 95 dollars :p
those butterflies are cute!

I will be practicing the style so as soon as I start I'll post up some pics,
but if you guys were attempting it, how would you go
about getting it up there? French twist? I'd like it to be a bit
loose at the nape too so would it be a better idea to do a
loose bun with the ends out and curled?

off to search for more sparklies!

Claire's usually has some nice sparkly hair accessories. You should check out the store if you have one nearby

I do and I will, thanks. I've never noticed if they have combs like this.

Has anyone ever used the crystal hair sparklies that you twist into
your hair like a spiral? Do they stay in?

The only crystal ones I have actually have velcro on the back
and I will never...ever...make that mistake again. sheesh.

i have only used the crystaly things on the minicombs, i think those are proboably the best cause the fit in pretty much every area, dont pull on the hair and the boby pin like ends are easy to hide

I think http://www.longhairgirl.com has some relatively inexpensive ones as well. I have three pink and three crystal from http://www.sohoforme.com, which are quite nice.
