Hi
I would really love hair this colour http://cl.ly/2E1u0I2F1J0K2d2t2c1O
at present it is like this: http://cl.ly/3e0l3m3p2b0d0s2B030z http://cl.ly/3r1M2i330c0c1J3p0F45 http://cl.ly/3z2j063C3R0K3E3R201w

This is a result of the reddybrown lush henna over naturally ginger/auburn hair (I forget their name for it) henna. I realised my hair was nowhere near the condition it had been when I'd henna'd with BAQ quality over my natural hair (which now I think about it probably was a bit browner than my natural colour due to shop bought brown dyes put on briefly.) I decided to henna gloss with high quality henna, this was too red so I dyed over with brown shop dye, and my hair went bad quality again. =[

I have bought some indigo and have both BAQ and lush henna left too (frozen). I did a strand test of pure indigo gloss, and a hendigo gloss (1/3 indigo, 1/3 henna, 1/3 conditioner). The hendigo gloss barely did anything while the indigo gloss was too dark. =[ I hear you shouldn't do pure indigo but since my hair has in the past been hennaed perhaps it is okay.

Not sure whether to to a stronger hendigo gloss or dye my hair brown with shop dye and THEN henna gloss (maybe doing the henna second would improve the condition). I also need my roots to roughly match my entire head and don't really want my hair getting thicker but it is worth it for the right colour and condition.

I don't want my hair going burgundy dark reddy purply cherry colour. I like auburn, mahogany! Thanks for any advice!!

This girl http://www.hennaforhair.com/mixes/katarina/ has a lovely colour. It seems the colour I like is what you get dying pure henna over brown hair. My natural colour is ginger/auburn... This is why I bought indigo, but if it goes too dark I will look silly. Man there is so much less of a risk for people with naturally chocolate hair when hennaing!!

I've just realised that her hair is quite a dull (not in a mean way) brown in the image of inside and no flash. Does this mean to get this colour I either have to have it crazy bright in sunshine or dull inside? =[

Your hair looks like it's already that color?

your hair is going to look way different in the light than it does inside with henna. There is a forum with henna pics and some take them indoors with no flash, outside with flash, in sun, etc. so you can see the different shades henna produces in different lights. So it is normal for your hair to look a different shade indoors or out of the sun compared to being full sunlight. And I do agree with coffinhert, your hair is very close to the color that you showed in the pic. Unfortunately it will be difficult to get exact colors as another person even if you mix the same way since henna seems to react on everyones hair in a different way and is so dependent on your starting color, time, mix, and just the way it wants to react in general. But good luck and keep us updated on how your journey goes to your desired color :)
