I should reach my goal in about 2 years. Growing out all these layers and have 1 length BSL hair.

It will probably take me a full year to reach BSL, my goal. I'm right about APL right now, and my hair is especially slow-growing :(

Assuming growth continues at this pace I should reach classic by christmas.

I should reach bum in about 3-4 years. I hope.

It'll take me 3 years to take all the layers out ánd get to hiplength.

July 1st, 2008, 09:52 AM
Well I recently reached my first goal of waist length, but my next goal is to be at waist with no layers. It should take me about a year (hopefully less) to get there! It feels like I'll forever be trimming my hair 1/2" each month.

I think I will be at waist by fall and then hip is only 3" away so I chose 1year or less :cheese:

July 1st, 2008, 09:55 AM
Roughly 2 years. I'm at waist now, tailbone next summer and classic after that.

Although that's measuring it brushed so it might be more like 2.5 to get it to be curly at classic.

But I'm happy now anyway as my hair is easily the longest it's ever been.

I should reach my goal in about 2 1/2 years. Classic :cheese:

If I keep up my current growth rate, I should be at my 50" goal by Christmas. Then begins maintaining the hemline at 50" and growing out some damage from several years ago (I HATE metal barettes!), currently at waist.

Guenever
July 1st, 2008, 10:14 AM
First step to 50" - approx. 3-4 years.. maybe more..

My current plan:
1) 1 year of maintaining at 38" (maybe more, maybe less.. depends on my growth rate..)
2) 1-1½ years to grow to classic (45")
3) 1 year to get to 50"

Maybe more maintaining in between.. so at least 3-4 years!

- After that I'll still be two-toned.. from low waist and down.. I'll have to grow out the dye as well! Another 20 inches 3-4 years.. DOH, could I regret my former dyeing habit more??!

*sigh* it all seems so far away!

I would looove to have knee-ankle length hair. That'll probably be 3 or more years from now.

wintersun99
July 1st, 2008, 10:33 AM
2 years maybe? I'm about an inch past SL right now and I have a minimum goal of BSL/MBL.

socks
July 1st, 2008, 10:56 AM
I'm about 1 1/2 years from my hair being ankle-length when stretched out, so I put 2 years, but the plan is a bit more complicated.

1.5 years to grow to ankles
1.5 years of maintenence (until I'm done with college)
.5 year to grow to floor

And after that, I plan to just see how it goes. Ankle-length when braided might be nice, if I don't hit terminal first, but I'd have to be even more careful to avoid accidently hitting anyone. Spinning around a dance floor with a braid as long as mine is not a good idea.

I'm a tad bit past BSL now... Probably 2 to 3 years to get to a healthy tailbone. It seems like it's taking my hair forever to grow though :(

jojo
July 1st, 2008, 11:13 AM
Im about an inch and half off the top of BSL. My goals are;

Full BSL by End September
waist by May 2009
Hip by march 2010
and classic March 2011

so 3 years off for me!

Hee hee well i totally misjudged that didnt I, so I will review my goals!

Waist by March 2010
Hip by March 2011
Tailbone by March 2012
and Classic by March 2013 fingers crossed!

I am aiming for terminal length, so with some luck I will continue to gain length for five or more years!

Finoriel
July 1st, 2008, 12:30 PM
Which goal?
I just enjoy the journey and do not stress about setting deadlines. Hair grows as fast as it grows and I´ll see where the growing process will lead me when I´m there. I´m cool with that and just enjoying the way along :)

Some point in the far, far, future, I hope, as I'm going for terminal!

July 1st, 2008, 12:56 PM
I picked 2 years, assuming 6 inches a year, but it might take longer as I seem to be in a growth stall. I'm at BSL, and my goal is tailbone, which looks to be about another 12 inches. Sigh. Seems like an awfully long time!

I should reach my goal in three years or so

FrannyG
July 1st, 2008, 02:49 PM
I've been a member here for 2 years, and lengthwise, I'm basically where I started. However, I've finally grown out my bangs and gotten rid of the face framing layers.

With trims, I should be at my goal of tailbone by the end of the summer, 2 years from now.

I don't measure my hair so I'm not sure of the growth rate, but I have about 6-inches left to tailbone. I should be there within a year.

July 1st, 2008, 09:31 PM
I should reach 40 inches in 2 years - ish. Then my goal will be maintaining. I'm not sure if I'll keep the henna color or not. We'll see.

July 1st, 2008, 11:38 PM
i don't know my growth rate. and i'm not sure if i want tailbone, classic or somewhere in between.

if i want to keep tailbone (37" or so), i imagine maybe a year? classic, maybe two? i really have no idea.

crystal_89
July 2nd, 2008, 12:17 AM
I'm not entirely sure what I want, but I picked 3 years or more assuming I may want classic, one length hair. Tailbone length in a year is a goal I'm looking forward to as well.

July 2nd, 2008, 11:19 AM
My first goal is shoulder length with no damages and in 1 length and I hopefully reach that in a year.My second goal is APL and may be I could reach it in 2 years.

BBGrrl
July 2nd, 2008, 10:30 PM
At my current growth rate it will take me 2 years. If it picks back up it could be as little as 4 months. Or it could be comming up on terminal and then it will never reach my goal. Oh well I love the length and I wouldn't mind maintaining it here.

Ndnlady
July 3rd, 2008, 12:48 AM
I voted 2 years, I figure I will either reach terminal or see if it actually keeps growing, crossing my fingers because my Father had very thick hair that would grow long very fast. The only reason he cut it off is because he worked on cars all day and it would get transmission fluid and oil in it! yuck!:(

July 3rd, 2008, 02:48 AM
My goal is virgin at TB so that's many years... I'm at APL now and have about three inches natural hair.

tiny_teesha
July 3rd, 2008, 04:24 AM
2 years if i stopped trimming, i put myself down for 3 years because i will trim a heap.
If i were to pick knee length it would be about 7 years or more?

Snowblood
July 3rd, 2008, 09:36 AM
I let my hair grow as long as I think it suits me fine. So there is no really length goal. ;)

Belisama
July 3rd, 2008, 10:16 AM
My initial goal when I started growing out my hair was for the ends to brush the tops of my hips, which would have been about 33 inches, 3 shy of where I am now. However, this year I adjusted my goal as my dream has always been to braid my hair and be able to wrap the braid around the crown of my head. After a little math, I figured I would need about 48 inches, maybe a little less to achieve this dream. So now I am aiming for my knees. :D

Angellen
July 3rd, 2008, 07:55 PM
I don't really have a goal at the moment. I would like to be a TB by my 1 year LHC anniversary, but I'm about 6 weeks away with about two inches to go, so that seems unlikely. Right now I'm not sure where I want to stop. I'm curious as to where terminal falls on me, and I unofficially decided that I would just grow until I felt like stopping. ;)

When I joined LHC last August, I was BSL or maybe a bit over, and I set my goal for hip, which I reached about a month or so ago. Now I'm just growing for the sake of growing. :)

July 3rd, 2008, 09:09 PM
Right now I'm thinking waist length would comliment me well. I should be about 19 months from waist length, but after I get there I have no idea what I will do. Cut it off again? Keep it growing? Who knows.. It might just be too heavy and hot to keep there where no amount of layers will help. I don't know. I just know I want it back and better than before I chopped it all off, and I want it to be healthy. I think that is a pretty good goal :).

VanillaTresses
July 3rd, 2008, 09:33 PM
It should be about 2 years, maybe 3?

July 4th, 2008, 06:23 PM
if all goes well and my growth continues on its current average it should take me two to three years to see the 12 inches of growth i desire. it could also take longer if i decide to trim some of my ends for thickness. we'll see (fingers crossed).

July 6th, 2008, 03:53 PM
I just don't know. My hair hasn't grown since I started measuring in September. I'm waiting for four more inches, so I'll probably be collecting my pension by the time I get there.

Woe. :(

July 6th, 2008, 04:12 PM
I will reach my big goal of waist in early 2009, about 6 months from now. Then I will maintain there for a year because of all the shorter post-partum hair, and then probably go for tb, which would take at least another 18 months and that would be my final goal. I'm guessing that two years from now my hair will really start looking good.

lilalong
July 7th, 2008, 10:05 AM
My goal is waist. I think I will need another year until then.
I do want healthy ends, so I might trim a bit, which might put my goal further into the future.

July 7th, 2008, 11:50 AM

maybe in 1 year I will have it past my waist.

P.S. How do you post messages? I'm new and don't know how

Tangles
July 7th, 2008, 12:04 PM
My first goal is Waist, which I'm guessing will take about a year, maybe just slightly more.

My second goal, if all goes well, is TB or classic, which would probably take another year or two. But it's been so long since I've had long HEALTHY hair that I figured I should divide my journey into two stages.

EDIT: Wishful thinking. I'm going to say 1.5 years till Waist, accounting for a few microtrims to ensure a blunter hemline. It's better to overestimate than underestimate.

Elanor
July 9th, 2008, 04:26 AM
I'm being optimistic and say that my hair will hit waist in a year or less. Even if that doesn't happen, I'll probably have hair of my dreams by then anyway ;)

nicolina
July 9th, 2008, 05:08 AM
My goal is waist, and my hair should be that length when straight in about 2 years, but the wave eats up some of the length when dry, so it's likely to be more like 3.

Scrofula
July 9th, 2008, 03:00 PM
3+ years for me I think, my hair is barely collar length at the back and nose skimming at the front, sort of like a reverse mullet! So it's going to take a little while to get anywhere significant.

Right now I guess my goal is to keep growing. Tomorrow I might change my mind!

July 9th, 2008, 04:46 PM
I voted 3 years or more... only because I'm not really sure what my goal length is, but I do have a goal, somewhere..! I previously thought mid-thigh or classic but recently I've been dreaming of knee-length ;) So... it's gonna be a long journey. Definitely 3 or more years, as I am only waist now.

Ohio Sky
July 9th, 2008, 05:08 PM
I'm about 10-12 inches shy of my goal, and I grow on average an inch a month (I'm guessing by my roots, I can't measure to save my life!) So I should be able to reach my length goal in around a year, but I'm going to allow myself a few extra months to trim off my layers and thicken up the hemline. So, somewhere between one and two years, hopefully.

Islandgrrl
July 9th, 2008, 05:10 PM
Three, maybe more. Depends on how much I trim, I guess!

Meli
July 10th, 2008, 12:29 AM
I voted three years or more. I'm going for terminal length and I have no idea how long it would be. But I do know that I won't reach my true terminal until my undamaged new growth have got there, and the longest hairs that appears to never have been cut/broken are approximately at APL at the moment. Assuming a growth rate of 6" per year, it will take about three years for those hairs to reach the length I have had as most. And if they still not have broken by then, they should grow longer than that.

I will reach my hair goal to classic this year between November-December 2009

Lord Bélgorôth
July 26th, 2009, 09:19 PM
By my calculations when considering how much hair grows in one month, it will take me around 12-13 years to reach my goal. :(

But it will be worth it.:)

Aries_jb
July 26th, 2009, 09:56 PM
I put a year or less because I'm hoping to reach BSL by the end of December. Whether or not that happpens is up in the air since my hair is curly and there's no telling when it will actually start showing a change in length.

Heavenly Locks
July 26th, 2009, 10:15 PM
My goal is a time goal so I know exactly when I'll reach it ;) I will be growing for sure, until I leave Japan in November of 2011. (Unless we end up with more time here) and I just want it to be the healthiest and longest it can be by then. I am hoping for TB or Classic by then.

I checked "two years" in the poll.

July 26th, 2009, 10:40 PM

EtherealOde
July 27th, 2009, 11:11 AM
It has got to be 3 or more years for me. Currently I am at 21 inches, and am going for classic which is somewhere between 41 and 45 inches (it's hard to measure accurately on yourself). I want to have a nicely thick hemline though, so it means trims to even up the racers and snipping away damage etc. I figure if I make it in 4 years I will count myself fortunate.

Marilyn Sanmo
July 27th, 2009, 11:24 AM
I don't really have a goal. But i would like to have hair in classical lenght. At the time i have 25 inches, classical would be 27. Last year my hair grew 9,45 inches, so maybe it could work in 3 years (not very realistic). But i haven't cut till now, If i do, it would need much longer(realistic)

jivete
July 27th, 2009, 02:08 PM
I think it'll take 1.5 to 2 years to reach my goal of waist with a thick hem-line. I'm a tiny bit below BSL but will be starting a trimming regime to get rid of layers & thicken up my hem. Two years doesn't sound so bad. Two years ago I wouldn't have thought I could do it ever.

ChrissieM
July 27th, 2009, 02:55 PM
well, lengthwise, I will be at my goal of hip/tailbone area in about 2 years. I'm at full BSL now with some pieces an inch below. I have about 12 inches of growth to go, I think. I'd like to grow out my long layers, too, a bit, so that might take longer. And then getting rid of the all of the chemically processed part of my hair? Probably another 5. I voted 2 though. That keeps the goal attainable and gives me the freedom to change it.

paintedmuse
July 28th, 2009, 06:08 AM
It took me 1.5 years from just above shoulder to BSL, so 2 years from now, I should be at hip, which is my goal :) (yesterday I was looking at my hair in the mirror, and noticed it was almost halfway down my back! Maybe it'll take less than two years? It got my hopes up :D )

Ravenmoon

Assuming my hair continue it's current growth rate, about 3 years or so...it seems so long...

desertgirl
July 28th, 2009, 07:15 AM
At it's current growth rate about a year and a half, but I chose 2 years since I don't know when one of those infamous slumps will come!

SL to APL in six months! BSL in the next six? TBL when?

freckles
July 29th, 2009, 06:26 AM
this is all guesstimates, but ...
I don't really have a set goal, but assuming I don't find my hair unmanageable before this, I would really like to see what I look like at tailbone! For me, this is going to be about 36". My hair at it's longest point is now 26", but I expect to lose a couple of inches at my trim to even it out/get rid of split ends. So call my starting point about 24". 12" to go then! I've never measured my hair before joining this site, so I have no idea how fast it grows - giving myself a generous average of 6" a year, it's gonna be two years. So I'll say my guess is two years MINIMUM, but probably a fair bit more :)
Which actually doesn't sound that long! :D

Bianca
July 29th, 2009, 07:20 AM
2 years till tailbone :p

Vermelha
July 29th, 2009, 09:57 AM
I did reach my goal of BSL this summer, but I cut my hair to past APL for health. I've got about 2.5" left until I reach BSL again (the end of this year), then I'm working towards WL, my long-term goal. I would love to reach Classic and TB lengths, but I don't think my hair will be easy to manage at those lengths. It couldn't hurt to try though!

Cake
July 30th, 2009, 07:00 AM
I don't really have "a goal", but I guess in two years my hair should be long and gorgeous (I'm almost APL) not only because the length, also because how much I'm taking care of it :crush:

July 30th, 2009, 06:36 PM
If my hair actually keeps up with the 1/2" of growth a month, I'll reach Classic length in a year. However, if I trim to control damage and/or the growth slows down, it will probably be about 2 years, which is what I voted for.

WritingPrincess
July 30th, 2009, 06:43 PM
At the rate I'm going now, I should reach knee a little over two years from now, unless I end up maintaining at classic/fingertip for awhile. If I keep going after that, it should take me about four more years to reach the floor, assuming I have the genes. So, a little over six years total, or I'll be 21. :)

Dotlover
July 30th, 2009, 10:09 PM
It will be at least a year and a half until I reach my hair goal of Mid-butt length ! My hair is currently right above APL, so I have a while to grow until it will be very close to MBL.

nowxisxforever

July 30th, 2009, 11:35 PM

My goal is just to let it grow as long as possible, trim off damage slowly, treat it nicely, and see where it ends up. As of right now, though, my focus is on waist.

Cynder
July 31st, 2009, 01:22 PM
Since I'm just now at shoulder length, at least 3 years to waist. But I seem to remember my hair growing really fast about 10 years ago.

I'd love to be at BSL by New Years.

masterofmidgets
July 31st, 2009, 03:23 PM
I'm hoping to reach my goal of classic length in about a year, maybe a year and a half from now - I have another six inches to go, and I grow about a half-inch a month, minus a trim every six months or so. Of course, my goal might change. I thought I would be happy with classic length, but I keep looking around here and seeing all the people with gorgeous knee+length hair and thinking hey, maybe it's not too long for me after all...

Lilli
July 31st, 2009, 05:21 PM
Seeing as my hair just barely scrapes my jaw at this point, anything below my shoulders would be a thrill!!! I'm hoping to brush my shoulders by the new year, and reach my goal of BSL in two years.

Lady Mary
August 1st, 2009, 11:47 PM
I don't really hair a goal per se, going for terminal length. I'm not sure where it will end. I'd be very interested to see it to classic length, if it made it that far I might consider that the end since I'm not sure I could manage it any longer than that. But who knows, I'm open to the possibilities.

August 3rd, 2009, 01:13 PM
I voted 3 years or more, because I've always wanted to find out what it's like to have knee-length hair, though I'm not sure it's possible for me. I once had hip length hair and the ends were very thin. Then again, that could have been from ripping through matted hair with a brush and not trimming for two years. But I should be at my short-term goal (waist) within the next couple months.

I voted that "I don't have a goal" because I have lots of them. I'm kind of at my first goal: waist (it took 1 year). But I've got a few more layers than I'd like... So growing some of them out is my next goal (it should take about 1 more year). Then I want to get to hip (which should take less than a year. And I'd love to get to mid-thigh, knee, or calf if I'm lucky... (All of these will take 3 years or more).

I'm going to maintain BSL hair in till I have 100% virgin hair, then go for my goal. It will take around 2 years (estimated) for my virgin hair to grow out but I think healthy hair is worth the wait. I think it will take around 4 years (wow that is a long time!) to reach my ultimate goal.

Feli
August 9th, 2009, 12:33 AM
I'm going for tailbone which should take one more year with my twice yearly trims. After that, my plan is to maintain at tailbone and keep trimming so that the ends are as thick as the top. My lifelong goal is to keep working on the healthiness of my hair - I'm amazed how just when you think you've settled on your routine and found out what's best for your hair, you read another great tip here in the forum!

My goal is to have healthy, relatively taper-free fingertip-length hair... So I voted 3 years or more. I don't know how long it will take, but I will be very surprised if doesn't take me as long as that.

Voted for "don´t have a goal", but it´s more because of the fact that I really do not know how long it will take. I´m curious to go terminal, but don´t have any idea about where my terminal lenght would be.

I picked 3 years or more, since my ultimate goal is terminal. My short-term goal is knee, and I just hit my goal of classic a couple months ago - actually I hit it twice in one year, thanks to a trim. :D It's going to take forever to hit terminal, since I'm trying to keep my hemline thick as I go along, by trimming.

I chose 2 years but it might take longer, with trims and stalling and other factors, i'm hoping for 2 years to reach classic. i'm about halfway to the goal now, just below BSL 26 inches. waist for me is about 30 inches, tbl is about 35 inches, so classic is about 41 inches. i guess now that i count the inches and know it takes about 1 year to grow 6 inches it will be maybe 4 to 5 years to reach classic? unless i do not trim at all and get a huge grow spurt? i can wait 3-4 years for my hair to reach classic which is my goal right now.

I picked three years and up beacuse its going to take me 7 to reach classic then another 2 to grow out my natural layers.

I picked "I don't have a goal", because currently, my goal is uncertain.

I'm not sure where I'm going to maintain, but I will be trimming a bit in March and deciding from there. I will either maintain at tailbone, continue to grow to classic, or trim and maintain at waist/hip.

Hmm... I picked 3 years or more. My goal is virgin and good condition classic/thigh and so far I have waist length and about an inch of natural colour :S

I can do it!! :D

I'm at hip aiming for the butt so I'm guessing less than a year. I'm not sure if I'll keep it as my goal when I get there though :p

Lets see....I'm an inch away from APL, aiming for waist.
A 2-3 years? And counting in the trims...Longer.
Eh. =)

I probably only have a year to reach BSL, but I'm sure my goal will change by then, so I'm saying 2 years :)

Someday in 2012 I hopefully reach my goal.

2 years, I think. In about a year I should have reached mid-thigh (probably my ultimate length goal), then I have a year to trim and thicken up my hemline (my other goal). After that, hopefully, I should be quite content hairwise ;)

3 or more without trims and some monistat maybe.

I'm guessing around 2 years, maybe a little less to get to my hips, but I'm also going to grow out my layers and maintain it there for a while and see if I want to go further.

I wanted to have knee lenght hair, but I changed my goal. Hip will be enought for me :P

I hope to reach my goal of fingertip within 1 year. By then I may change my goal to knee, but I'm waiting to see if I like fingertip length first.

I really don't know how long it will take so I just said 3 or more years. I keep changing my goal so it could be sooner depending on how happy I am with it.

I *think* it will take me two years to get to waist length, but with curls its hard to tell for sure.

I won't reach my goal of terminal for about 7 years because somewhere along the line I have to do some major trimming to get rid of my layers.

Assuming I continue at my current growth rate, I should see Knee Length in about thirty months.

My goal was Term, and I've been there for a couple of years now. Alas, I wanted Term to be much longer than classic, but it appears to be not in this lifetime. :(

I'm currently just above waist, and my goal is hip. Technically it should only take a year but my hair is slow growing and needs trimming a lot so I think 2 years is an optimist guess!

For me it's 6 years... For now. With all trims in between it may take me a year more.
Long and winding road.

I'll be at apl by this time next year. Anything is better than shoulder-lol.

I'm growing out bangs, so it will take about 1-2 years before everything is all one length in a blunt hemline and from there, about 2-3 years to get to classic length... growing impatiently until 2014!!

I have'nt gotten myself a goal yet, I'm thinking of classic so I wrote 2 years. My hair grows extremely fast and barely needs trimming.

somewhere within a year and two years. But you know, by then I will have a new goal that will add on another year or two :P

I will probably reach classic in about a year and a half, but my goal is terminal, so I'll be growing until it doesn't want to grow anymore. :)

I am hoping for about two years, but don't know for sure, as I never paid attention to the growth-rate of my hair.

I will have hopefully reached classic length by the beginning of 2013, after 6 years total of growing.

I'm starting my goal kinda low since my hair is so short! I think in 2 years I'll be happy with my hair but then will start a new goal!

Last July my hair was above shoulder length, and if I maintain the same level of growth waist in a year should be no problem, so I'm expecting to reach it next summer sometime unless I have to do a major trim for some reason. So far my ends are holding up pretty well. When I get to waist, my plan is to maintain for a while while I grow out 3-4" of non-pampered hair, and then I'll see how I feel about going longer.
