A month and a half ago, when I was first starting out here, I posted a thread asking about simple buns I could learn, as everyday styles. I was mostly looking for buns that could be held with one (or two) stick (s) and nothing else, and that were easy to learn and, of course, suitable for my length.

The original thread is here:
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=75522&highlight=buns+nubs

I got a few suggestions. Some of the suggestions I haven't gotten to yet (because the style requires more than just a stick), I will get to them eventually so please don't think I am ignoring your suggestions! It's just that for now I am just doing hairstick buns.

Until the album uploads went down, I was posting my progress with pictures I took with my cell phone, but I recently got a pretty decent camera, and decided to shoot a few of the styles I learned with it so that I could really see how the buns looked, and if I was doing them right.

So, here are the results (in the order in which I learned them):

There are some other buns I learned as well, but the pictures I took didn't come out very well so I will try again another time!

Please feel free to give critiques. Do these buns not look anything like they're supposed to? Is there something I am doing wrong? Let me know!

The only one of those I know how to do is the lazy wrap and yours looks perfect. In fact all of the buns look nice on you. I love the shine your hair has. :) Sorry I couldn't be more help on the other buns.

I don't know how to bun yet, but I LOVE the double pointed knitting needle you're using in the first one. Can't wait til I can use mine like that.

Awesome! and great pictures!! My lazy wrap bun is more horizontal than yours but I think it depends on which angle you poke the stick through

Thank you guys! I am glad this post can be helpful to those of you with long enough hair, and to those of you with shorter hair, that it can inspire you to keep growing!

I came to this forum like, 2 months ago, and at the time I always wore my hair down (or in a pony tail, on oily days). I didn't know that I could do anything with my hair, because my hair is truly a pain to style. It just never "stays." I also just wasn't interested in doing things with it, because I liked the way it looked down and thought buns made me look like an old lady.

Well, these styles really hold... and because they are so quick and simple and require next to nothing (no products, and only a hair stick) it's very easy for me to have the patience to do them regularly. I still think I look a bit old with any bun, but that's alright, I am not trying to look young or attractive on weekdays (at work) anyway.

It's been a lot of fun learning, so I will keep learning and sharing. I am very thankful to LHC for introducing me to hair stick bunning, really thankful to the people who post those tutorials and to LHCers who shared advice with me. I'm also really thankful for all your compliments! You have been very encouraging :)

Your buns look fabulous. I am a bun failure. A can only do a cinnabun. I'm even worse at braiding.
