Hey guys! It's been quite awhile since I last posted (almost a year, eek!) but I've been lurking around a bit here and there and decided to jump back into things... except that now I'm a little stumped, as my hair has changed quite a bit over the last year!
A brief bit of background: I was firmly at classic length this time last year, and had been henna'ing from March 2010 until then. So a good portion of my length was still damaged horribly by all the tortures of chemically dying it for years. I was planning a big move from Washington State to Maryland, and right before I left I got a crazy idea.... and went to get my hair chopped off! So I went from classic to just barely BSL, with some light layers cut in as well. And I absolutely loved it!
I continued with henna up until about March of this year, and would still be using it if I wasn't so darn poor! (I lost my job in Feb. and just now got another one, so once bills are caught back up I'll definitely be getting some more henna. I'm going through withdrawals!)
So here is my predicament. Once I cut off all that weight and damaged hair, the remaining hair decided that it was wavy / curly. o.O;; So what I previously thought was 1b hair is actually in the 2 range... what do you guys think? 2b? Possibly even 2c, as the ends tend to spiral if left alone? Here's a hair typing pic I took today after a shower, left completely alone to air dry with no combing. (Don't mind the dirty mirror!)

On top of the seemingly random hair type change, I moved very close to the Eastern coast... which means crazy humidity that my hair isn't used to. So I frizz -constantly-. Mostly my canopy, where it's about 3 inches of completely virgin hair due to my lack of funds for henna recently.

I have no idea how to tame this! It's especially bad when I wear my hair up and out of my face for work. If I don't hairspray it down I end up looking very sloppy and frizzy after an hour or two. I really don't want to rely on hairspray. My hair likes coconut oil (or it did a year ago or so... on the drive to the east coast when I moved, some jerk broke into my van and stole a bunch of stuff, the box marked 'bathroom' as well, that had my coconut oil in it. (i know, right?) ) All the big grocery stores I've checked out here doesn't carry it, so I don't know where to get it.
Any other suggestions for taming humidity frizz? Preferably something cheap for the short term... I'm hoping things will be better financially in the next couple months so then I can splurge on more expensive things for my hair!
Thanks so much in advance, everyone! :D
