Have any of you tried these products?

I've tried the one for volume, but I'm allergic to lavender so that was a no go but my mom who has finer and thinner hair than I really enjoys it.

Now that my hair is feeling really dry,
I picked up the one called moisture rich.

Here are the ingredients:

I'm also interested in this brand! I'm also eyeing the Moisture Rich conditioner. The ingredients looke extremely yummy for my hair with argan and avocado oil high on the list and also shea and cocoa butter ^^

Anyone else already tried this one? And how do you like it gabriellerose?

They both contain a silicone, so you may need to clarify once in a while. They say "pH balanced" but I wonder, to what pH? Usually it means around 7, like water, but our scalp's pH is closer to 5.

I got the moisture rich conditioner on a whim and just used it for the first time last night. The smell is delicious. I like the ingredients, but I think the "fruit stem cell" stuff is really goofy, and I was annoyed to reread the ingredient list as I was using it and find dimethicone down near the bottom.

I think I didn't manage to rinse it out fully. In the shower it didn't give my hair much slip, and now my hair looks and feels coated. And a bit tangly. It did bring out the waves, though. And I'm still loving the smell. I'm gonna give it another shot next time and make sure I get absolutely everything rinsed out. (Edit: I'm definitely not going to be trying this one as a leave-in.)

Darn, I overlooked the dimethicone :( Too bad.

I've used the moisturising condish ( I think it had argan and orange blossom, or something?) and it was sooo good that it was single-handedly responsible for getting me back on cones.
I think I was so hung up on using natural products that I never realised that my hair kinda loves and needs cones for slip.

Anyone ever tried the Citrus shine shampoo? I just got a bottle today and I'm really excited to try it. Looking for a new shampoo since Giovanni 50/50 was reformulated :(

Just wanted to update: I've used this shampoo about 3 times this week and I'm completely addicted. It's quite moisturizing and leaves my hair smooth and tangle-free.

I haven't tried the shine one yet, but I have tried the volumizing line and didn't care for it. I worked wonders for my mom though. Does the line have cones? I think the argan one did.

No cones as far as I see in the shine shampoo or conditioner. I think I may pick-up the conditioner this week, too. I really, really love this stuff. I've been shampooing daily (which would usually be overkill for me) and my hair just gets smoother and smoother (but not in a cone-laden way; it feels soft and moisturized)! :disco::disco::disco::disco::disco::disco::disco:

That's great!

At my local Whole Foods they are only carrying the volume line, and a line for thinning hair. No shine one though. :(

They do have all the stylers though...

Wow, I just did a search for "Andalou Naturals"-- I didn't know people were talking about it today. :D

Today was the first time I noticed it in Whole Foods. My store carries the Sweet Orange (is that the moisturizing?) and the Sunflower Citrus (dunno what that one's supposed to do?). I just bought new conditioners, so I didn't buy those (plus I'm not sure I wanna use cones yet)-- but I did buy the Sunflower styling gel (no cones). I'm gonna try it tonight. :cheese: I'll let you know how it goes!

Kristin, is the Shine the same as the Sunflower? Or the Sweet Orange? Or another? :)

ETA:  Just looked at the site! The Orange is moisture and the Sunflower is shine. Awesome! My store carries the one you're talking about-- and it looks cone-free! :cheese:

Just so everyone's aware, both the moisture rich (sweet orange and argan oil) shampoo and conditioner have cones - amodimethicone and dimethicone, respectively. So does the moisture rich styling cream (amo*). That appears to be their only hair line with anything I recognize as a cone. (Why yes, I did just go through them all. :o) Too bad for me, since it smells wonderful.

May 30th, 2012, 04:38 PM
Thanks for that, ouseljay! :flower: I think I might try the coney line anyway, as I'd been considering going back to cones anyway, and the cones are fairly low on the ingredients list... so it might not be a cone overload, like with Pantene or the like. :) I'm gonna try the Sunflower line first, though, as it isn't coney. :) Excited to try my Sunflower gel tonight! :cheese:

Annibelle- Let me know about the styling gel; that may be my next purchase!

The gel worked really well! :cheese: My hair still has a lot of body without being too fuzzy! I'll add a tad more gel next time (I was conservative with it), but it's pretty great! Of course, it's the first hair gel I've used other than FOTE AVG, so I can't compare it to others. :o (Also, in the photo I just woke up, so that's why it's flatter on the right... hehe.)

http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z414/4nnibelle/P5314479.jpg

And keep me updated on the conditioner! :D I'm definitely trying it if you like it. :cheese: Isn't the smell delicious? I haven't really smelled any great products since going to more natural conditioners, so it's nice to smell something yummy. :cheese:

June 3rd, 2012, 12:29 PM
I was just about to ask you how that conditioner worked! :D

I used a bit too much gel this time, I think, but my hair is still presentable today. I really love this stuff! I keep getting consistent results whenever I use it-- a VERY big deal for my inconsistent waves. I've worn my hair down all week because I like my results. :D

I'm definitely picking up that conditioner this week. :D

I just used the Shine conditioner! :cheese: SO came into the bathroom all suspicious when I got out of the shower. He thought the conditioner smelled like orange ice cream. Can you tell we're dieting?

I used the conditioner alone for CO, and then I applied 5 pea-sized drops of the matching gel after. When my hair dried, I scrunched out the gel and was left with soft, shiny hair. :) It's not quite as wavy as usual (except in front), but maybe that would be remedied by using more gel next time. I like it, though! :) After I'm finished with all of the conditioners I already have, I think I'll try the coney one for curlies (the moisturizing one).

:cheese: I woke up this morning and was shocked by how shiny my hair is! I've been blessed in that my hair has always been pretty shiny, but wow! This is awesome! I still have to play with ratios, but I think I may have found my Holy Grail products...!!!

I'm having my DH pick up more of this for me this week... I don't know why I stopped using it. I've still used only the Shine conditioner; I've not tried the shampoo, nor have I tried the Moisture line. I think I'll have DH pick up the Moisture s & c this week. :) I've been washing with shampoo lately because nothing beats the volume and waves shampoo gives me, so I figured I'd try the Moisture line to see if it gives me even more waves. Yeah, it's coney, but I think I'll give it a shot anyway. :)

Oh I LOVE Andalou Naturals!!! I've used their age defying shampoo/conditioner for the past 8 months! That's as long as I've used any sort of hair product. I would def. recommend it! Although, I currently want to try something new, just to add some excitement in my life lol, this is my go to shampoo/conditioner! Too bad no place near me sells it in store so I have to order it online. Oh well, it's worth it imo!

I think the Brilliant Shine line looks promising for my hair!

Annibelle
April 4th, 2014, 09:08 PM
I've used the Shine conditioner before (earlier in this thread), and I liked it. :) If the Moisture doesn't work for me I'll try the shampoo from the Shine line.

Annibelle
April 17th, 2014, 05:46 AM
I used the Moisture S and C for about a week, and at first it was okay-- nothing special, no extra wurls, etc-- but by the end of the week my hair was dry. And the scent ended up being way too candy-sweet for me. I'll probably go back to the Shine line at some point, but for now I'm going to stick to two products that have worked consistently well for me-- Burt's Bees shine and Avalon Moisture. :)

TheHowlingWolf
April 17th, 2014, 11:26 AM
Oh wow.....thanks for the update about the reformulation of the moisture rich line! Maybe I'll try that someday but for now I think I'll stick with my age defying shampoo/conditioner. The shampoo leaves my scalp/hair feeling really clean and gets off all the oil I have slathered in my hair, but it seems like the more I use, the more soft my hair is! And the conditioner, despite not having the words "moisturizing" or "hydrating" in the title like I'm used to, it makes my hair SO soft and easy to detangle! I also love the smell!
ALTHOUGH! I didn't know they had a leave in conditioner! When did that happen?! http://andalou.com/index.php/haircare/moisture-rich/moisture-rich-leave-in-conditioner.html I think I might get that & try it!
I'm currently trying a new shampoo/conditioner but I think I'll go back to Andalou because it's less expensive and easier to get!

I just picked up the moisture one from marshalls for $4.99 because it looked like a good conditioner and it seemed like a great deal. I came home and did the search and im glad so many of you like it I think I might go get a few more bottles before I even try it.

TheHowlingWolf
April 24th, 2014, 03:53 PM
My LIC came today! I will use it tonight & give a first impression review tomorrow. But it smells really good!
Also, I'm almost out of the oil I use for a scalp massage ("almost out of" meaning I still have 1/3 of the bottle left lol), & was thinking about getting this!: http://andalou.com/index.php/haircare/treatment/age-defying-scalp-treatment.html Then my whole routine would be andalou naturals, besides my coconut oil.

I really like the LIC! It makes my hair really soft & easy to detangle! It's a lot thinner than the LICs I'm used to, but that's okay! It still works just as good, if not better! Before I was mixing two LICs together, but now I think I can just use this one & get the same results! The only thing is that it leaks from the tube. I have to store it sideways, otherwise a bunch comes out when I open the cap, without me even squeezing it.

Oh & I also ordered the scalp treatment this morning lol

TheHowlingWolf
April 26th, 2014, 02:19 AM
Eeek! Exciting! I hope you like the Age defying shampoo as much as I do!!! I actually dilute mine.
Are you planning on using the deep conditioner as a regular conditioner or a deep conditioner?

Marika
April 26th, 2014, 02:53 AM
I think I'm going to try both ways. To tell you the truth, I'm a little lazy doing deep treatments so I might end up using it as a regular conditioner if it's not too heavy. I hope they arrive soon! :)

TheHowlingWolf
April 26th, 2014, 02:12 PM
I like to get my andalou products off of vitacost instead of their website because they are cheaper, but they don't have the LIC or the deep conditioner on there last time I checked, but if you fall in love with the shampoo and/or want to try other products, I'd get them from vitacost. Shipping is cheaper too :)

TheHowlingWolf
April 30th, 2014, 10:00 PM
My scalp treatment comes tomorrow yay! I'm going to use it tomorrow and then wash it out Friday night (wash night). I'm still loving the LIC, though I contacted them about how the tube was leaking and they basically just said that they weren't planning on changing the packaging anytime soon :/

TheHowlingWolf

Have you gotten your products yet? Do you like them? :)

Marika
May 9th, 2014, 03:35 AM
Thanks for asking TheHowlingWolf, yes I got my order! :) I've used them only once but I like them both a lot! Usually the more natural shampoos are really thin but the Age Defying is nice and thick almost like gel. I used it full-strength (lathered really well) but I would imagine that it works great diluted too. My hair was a bit oily on day 2 but that happens with every shampoo I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot). No itchies though and it felt gentle. The scent is a little bit like cough medicine, herbal scent. I actually like that too.

The deep conditioner was really nice too! It smells like mint candy and I think it really was moisturizing because my hair became a lot wavier than normal (I rinsed it out just after 1 minute). My hair was tangle-free even without any combing but obviously the coney slip was missing. And I kind of like that because my hair looks a lot thicker with cone-free products. I also used my new leave-in (Alba Botanica, also cone-free).

I'm really impressed with Andalou products! Thanks for recommending these! :flower:

How was the scalp treatment?

I'm glad you like 'em! I thought the scalp treatment would be more like an oil, and I would use it as a pre poo, even though it suggests using it after you wash your hair....I was paranoid it would make my hair greasy since my scalp already gets oily. But it's such a watery consistency that I can use it after I wash my hair with no problem! I really like it! I can feel a slight tingle and my scalp doesn't feel itchy! I do wish it came in a bigger bottle though, but that's only 'cause I have a big head lol.

I ordered the leave-in, hairspray and deep conditioner....LOVE the leave-in and hairspray. I haven't had a chance to try out the deep conditoner but will soon. I'm going to be ordering more of the leave-in and hairspray to have backups :). I like their scents, very soft and not overpowering. I'm also going to order some of the shampoo and conditioner, the moisture one and maybe another..the sunflower(?) one. I am so glad I tried this brand out. I've been looking for a good leave-in for a long time and this one is wonderful so far. The hairspray definitley has medium-strong hold depending on how much is used but my hair was easy to fix the next day and not hard.

I have used their age defying shampoo for gosh, almost a year (that's how long one bottle has lasted me, I'm almost finished it) and think it does some good for my hair growth. I believe I will repurchase. I prefer their moisturizing conditioner on my length. Amazing smell, doesn't buildup too fast.

Reviving this thread because I just tried the Andalou Naturals Argan Oil Moisture Rich shampoo during today's wash. The bottle and website say the current formula is silicone and sulfate free, but I think it has ingredients that are sulfate replacements (sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate, sodium methyl 2-sulfolaureate, disodium 2-sulfolaureate) and they are too harsh and drying for my scalp. I only used a small amount of this around my hairline area and washed the rest of my hair with a different (diluted) shampoo, so I can't really say what it does to/for the lengths, although I'd assume it might strip them as well. It smells yummy though, like orange ice cream.

Oddly it's marked as a gentle and moisture-rich formula, but it seems overly harsh and drying (at least based on what it did to my scalp). I might try it again, diluted and not directly on my scalp, and see what happens then, but not until the next wash day which is about a week away.

Has anyone else been using this brand of shampoo lately? How does it work for you?

It has been my shampoo and conditioner for almost two years now. That's how much i like it. At first i was sceptical because i was looking for something richer in natural ingredients but with one or two silicones but i was surprised to find out it has none but it still gives amazing slip.
Regarding the shampoo, my scalp is very dry and nothing really quenches it but this one is not too harsh on it and it cleanses thoroughly. I use the age defying line.

Reviving this thread :) Does anyone else like these products? I've been using andalou shampoo and conditioner for the last couple washes. I really like them! I had tried the age defying line about a year ago and didn't like the scent enough to continue using (smells like a boutique soap shop- maybe sandalwood soap). It smelled nice enough but my hair absorbs so much of the scent that it lingered too heavily. The Exotic Marula shampoo and conditioner smell really delicious- like a thin mint. :D The moisture rich conditioner smells like an orange creamsicle. :crush: The main drawback is that showers now make me very hungry. The conditioners leave my hair wavy, shimmery, good volume, and my ends don't feel grabby. :cloud9:

ETA: the shampoo ended up my scalp itchy and the conditioners are too protein heavy for regular use. They smell nice though!
