Cute hairstyle spotted!

While I was waiting for the bus, I saw a girl sporting this cute hairstyle! And yes, it was what my sketch indicates - a hairbow! Fortunately, I had the opportunity to study the hairdo fairly well, since the girl was waiting for the same bus I was.
At a guess the girl's hair was soewhere between APL and BSL, so not so very long hair by LHC standards.
The base of the hairstyle was a high ponytail. I saw one thick hair elastic at the base of the structure, and I would guess that that was where the styling started, with the hair being put into that ponytail. The side parts of the bow seemed to be fairly heavily backcombed, but with the outer parts smooth, so I would guess there had been fairly heavy use of hairspray as well - I would guess they were made first, with part of the hair held in reserve to cover up things in the middle - I could see hair tips sort of sticking out at the back of the hairbow.

There were a couple of threads/videos showing this hairstyle here in LHC a while back. It's very cute indeed. I don't think they used hairspray though, just a hair band and bobby pins.

I watched several Youtube vids and did one of these last year. No backcombing or hairspray needed.

i wish i can do this - but i still have layers so it doesn't look very neat....

I did that on my sister once :) Yes, it needs a little backcombing, but probably you could do without it, depending on your hair texture. I also think it's very cute ^^And it's not dificult to do. Your description is very acurate! :D
