massage brush with wooden pins

So, I'm using a wooden comb when I do a heavy castor oiling on my scalp and then I comb it through and scritch the scalp with it as I do. Would a massage brush with wooden pins work better for this? I'm doing the castor oil for growth but I love the deep oilings on the length, too.
