When i comb my hair , especially if its been tied up on top of my head (not too tightly) i always see little bits of hair breaking off, and a few long ones that shed. My hair sometimes has a 'mushy' feel sometimes .. does this mean my hair needs more protein?

My hair type listed isnt right but my hairs long, pretty thick and naturally straight.

:D

Sounds like your hair definitely needs protein!

Mushy usually means chemical damage, did you dye it recently?

i had it bleached about 6 months ago but the condition of it is fine really .. it just gets the mush feel to it when its been piled on my my head for a few days. think im gonna stick some mayo or something on it and hope the breakage stops

It sounds like it could be over moisturized. I would say to get in some protein, but to be careful! A little goes a long way from some people, and too much protein can be disastrous.

I had someone use bleach on my hair to take color out and it left my hair very mushy, breaking. I have tried a million things, this product seems to work best:

It's an extreme protein treatment. I leave it on for 1 hour every 2 weeks. It was worked really well for me. I follow with lots of coconut oil in between. One bottle lasts forever.
