I have almost platinum blonde hair, with some golden lowlights. I got my roots colored solid blonde and my stylist over-toned the rest of my hair. The gold pieces turned grey?
Is this easily removable? Will this permanently stain my hair? I do not want to further damage my hair by re-bleaching.
Please help, not going out in public with grey hair! :(

You do not have to rebleach. Toner does fade over time. Try using clarifying shampoo and then she can retone with a neutral/gold toner. She may have used a violet/ash to prevent brassiness, but since your hair was porous after bleaching, it took hold of the toner. I find that if hair is wet before toner is applied, it doesn't take up as much color. In the past, I would sometimes mix Ardell blonde drops (the ones that turn the conidtioner yellow/gold) with conditioner and apply it to my hair for 10 - 20 minutes.

Now I am actually trying to let my silvers shine, so I am staying away from the gold tones. Good luck to you!

First of all, plenty of people here wear gray hair proudly, so you won't likely get much sympathy in that regard. lol

More pertinent to our problem: Anything you do to further lighten or color your hair is going to do further damage to your hair.

There is something called Color Oops, but i don't know if that will help your particular problem. Perhaps some of the LHCers who are hair stylists can help you with that.

What was the intended point for the colorist to overtone your golden lowlights?
What was the expected/intended outcome of that?

I ask this ^ because I once triple-processed my dark hair to achieve what sounds like your color: stripped all of it's color out, bleached it platinum, then added golden lowlights back into it to look more natural. I had my roots touched up with this triple processing every three weeks. You can see my natural hair color in my avatar (the picture underneath my user name). You can see old reddish color at the ends of the picture in my signature line (the picture below this text box). So I'm not slamming you for bleaching your hair. :)

Don't worry, it will wash out over time - should be better after two to three shampoos. Also, if you want a quicker fix, go to Sally's and buy their gold protein filler:

It may help some. Just apply the gold filler lightly to the grayish parts (may work better on damp hair), leave on for three minutes or so, then rinse out.

Oh yes - that was the other thing I was thinking of!

No sympathy. Not only is grey and silver welcomed here, coloring your hair to silver blonde is on the screaming edge of hair fashion at the moment. if you don't want to be haute mode, okay, wear a scarf.
