Where can I find updo pictures and instuctions.
ALL I can do is and this is only sometime when my hair cooperates (yes it has a mind of its own) : sock bun, cinnamon bun, bee butt bun.
I can also do a basic three strand braid and sometimes a french braid.
I really wanna add some new styles to my list of stuff I can do.
My hair is at waist length and thick.

I found this site to be very helpful:

That is a good site that Eboshi posted. Just keep practicing! I just recently managed a figure 8 bun & I still can't french braid either.

There are also a lot of updos in the articles here. Check out the "Articles" link in the row of links at the top of every page.

I'm updo challenged too. I've found that using different hairtoys satisfies my need for diversity.

Thanks- I will check out the articles and that link.

Xandergrammy - So if you are updo challenged then what do you do with all your hair? You have like 14 inches longer hair than mine...I can't imagine. I love my length but the longer it gets the harder it gets to just wear it loose alot.

You're updo challenged? You can do like three more updos than me (at least ones I would go out in public in). My total summary of updos is cinnabun and Gilbaltrar bun and a funny looking wrapped thing that doesn't resemble anything I've ever seen a pic of here but that stays up. I've never learned to properly French braid on myself and now that my hair is so long I end up with a tangled mess at the ends and sore arms before I'm even halfway down my head and I give up. But even braiding now means I need to bun the braid and then I think what's the point in braiding it except to spend more time on it. I've stared and stared and watched tutorials and end up with a mess every time. :scared: I should join the Hair Idiots club for sure. :violin:

These ones are fairly well known, but for good reason!

DreamWeaver is so great for learning any sort of braid style - no videos, but very clear and very smart instructions. I'm sure most of you have seen this one before, but it's worth reposting :)

Dressy Tresses have alright instructions and a wide variety, even though I usually have to read through a couple times before I get it. Still, that's probably my brain malfunctioning.

I never knew any updos either other than french and regular braids, and then I bought a bunch of hairtoys and had to learn to compensate for the expense:cool:...<.<

Go take a look in my blog in the Hair section. You'll see that most of my buns look the same. Sometimes they're braided- sometimes they're not. I only wear my hair loose on wash days or at home. Even at home it gets hard to leave down. My dogs try to make a bed in it. Anyway, I've discovered that Ficcares are my best friend. Quick and easy and they hold a ton of hair like glue. Go take a look. :flower:

Check out youtube and do a search on buns, braids, updo's etc.... I'm a visual learner so watching the videos really helps me.
