deep conditioning and shampoo

Hi all,
Just a question about how deep conditioning treaments would be used. Are they used after shampooing? if so would I still need to use coconut oil as a preconditioner?

Some people use it before shampoo, some people use it after the shampoo. I prefer after shampooing, so I don´t need to take a conditioner after it or a leave-in.

I prefer deep conditioning after shampooed because the shampoo dries out my hair which would defeat the purpose of the deep conditioning if I were to shampoo afterwards.
