Will Aquaphor harm my hair?

I have really bad, itchy eczema on my neck, so I've been putting Aquaphor (which is basically Vaseline) all over it. The problem is that it's getting in all the baby hairs at my nape. Is it bad for them at all? I don't want to damage my hair in trying to treat something else.

I've gotten vaseline in my hair before (I used it around my hairline/on my ears so they didn't end up with purple hair dye on them). I'm not sure if it damaged my hair (this was a very long time ago) but it was hard to wash out.

It should be fine as long as you aren't allergic to petroleum products (which would also exacerbate the eczema. I find it easier to get out oily stuff in hair using conditioner.
