I'd usually try to contain myself and keep this kind of thing to my journal... but I'm too pleased with myself and wanted to share properly!

I finally got a fringe!!

The Fringe has been taunting me on a regular basis for about the last three years, and I always talk myself out of it. Only to find myself considering it again only a month or so later. It was tiring and dull.

The logic that broke the cycle was simply that I dawned that I'd never be satisfied with my hair until I at least TRIED the fringe. Then if I liked it, all the better, and if I didn't I could grow it out and know that I didn't want one. And move the hell on from the fringe taunting.

Well, it's done, and I LOVE IT. Much more than I even thought I would. My hairdresser was just lovely, did exactly what I wanted, and undercharged me, bless her. She's the first and only hairdresser I've ever been to on my Fringe Quest (and there were many) who could actually see that a fringe and long hair WOULD work. Everyone else had always insisted that I'd need to lose about a foot of hair. She did a fantastic job.

And we all know it didn't happen if there aren't pics. I'm afraid LHC won't let me upload photos today, so I'll have to link from flickr. They're all "click for bigger".

HOT!!

And that's why you should never let a hairdresser talk you out of something you want! Long hair and a blunt fringe is very sexy, and also I think very classy.

Looks gorgeous on you :)

AGREED! I think fringes look best on long hair. I remember Nelly Furtado having a blunt fringe when her hair was longer a few years back and I thought it was absolutely stunning.

Thank you all very much! :D I must admit I had my doubts about whether or not the fringe/long hair combo would work for me. Apparently it does! :cheese:

It looks amazing!!!!I am growing my hair ...from a pixie...since end of march
Nowfinally I cut off the dreaded mullet and gave myself a fringe as well
I am still adjusting....as I am like u...never really had one...other than the super short pixie
I do see how it changes ones look dramatically!!!and brings attention to the eyes!!!
Congrats!!

I like it! It really looks great on you. :) But that's a weird comment from your previous hairdressers. I think a finge looks best when paired with long hair!

I think it look so cute on you! And since you are a 2a hair type, it will be much easier to maintain as compared to when I had fringe. I have wavy hair, and I have cowlicks all around the front hair where my fringe used to be, so I had to straighten them everyday and try to get them to hang right, and all the jazz. I had bangs for about 4 years, then decided to finally let them grow out, because I'm going with my natural hair texture- waves and wurls. I'm glad they're working for you! :)

I know it's weird but I have to say it....It's kind of eerie how much you look like I did when I was younger. My hair was almost exactly as you have it now too (similar colour too). Good for you for taking the plunge.

You're so cute, and the fringe is so cute, too! :crush:

I've been thinking of taking the plunge, too, for about a year now, so on your schedule it'll take me another 2 years to commit. :p Hopefully you'll give me incentive to stop my waffling, though, since yours turned out so beautifully!

Thank you everyone for being so lovely! I have purchased a very cheap (£3.97 from Argos :p) hairdryer in anticipation of some crazy fringe waves. I have had a fringe once before, but I had short hair and blowdried everyday, so am unsure how it'll behave when airdried. At the moment it still thinks it lives parted in the middle, so a little persuading will be in order, I think.

Bless you all :) And hurray for fringes!!

Oooh! That looks absolutely lovely on you!

I've got similar fringe, so I'm a big supporter of it. :) Fringe goes GREAT with long hair!

It looks lovely! :flower:

Having a fringe/bangs is something that's cropped up in my thoughts a few times as well... I've actually thought about trying for one of those fake ones just to see what it looks like...
