Looking for some advice/comments, please! I'm getting kind of sick of my $3 plastic hairsticks, besides which they aren't holding my hair securely anymore, so I'd like to invest in some nicer hairtoys. I like wood, but I can't decide what color wood would look nice! So indecisive.

This picture is from a while ago, but I think it's closest to my actual color:

Any suggestions?

My favorite woods for hair toys are ebony and Lignum Vitae, both of them are very hard so the toys become smooth and very durable. Ebony is typically black, but do come in a variety of color including actually pink, Lignum Vitae is green, and get greener as it is being used.

My favourite wood hairsticks are definitely the Ketylos. They have a lot of different colors, I can't say which one you should choose because that depends on your preference, but I'd suggest something that either has a natural wood color (like a Dymondwood chestnut) or something soft green (like the Tahitian Jadewood), I think those would suit your haircolor beautifully :)

I think walnut looks good on just about everyone.

If you're blonde my first recommendation is ebony. Black hairtoys are classic and look so good in light hair. If it's more reddish I'd recommend tulipwood. Something green would look nice, too but that's a bit unpredictable. I love lignum vitae but they range from a dull yellow to dark green to dark brown. If you're looking for some local non-exotic wood (both to save money and for ethics) I'd recommend maple or walnut to start with. :) Of course if you're OK with colored wood like Dymondwood then go with anything that strikes your fancy (or match your outfits).
