How is "argan" pronounced?

Is it a "g" as in "genre" or a hard "g" as in "go"?

Is is "an" as in "on" or "an" as in "and"?

I have always said it like "arzhon".

How do YOU pronounce it and what is the proper pronunciation?

I've never actually said it out loud but in my head I've always said Are-gone.

ARE-gan (like 'can' [or 'cun' sometimes, now I think about it more]) is how I hear it in my head. It's been awhile since linguistics, but I think that's mostly right- the dictionary says ˈɑːɡæn, and the oil is from an Argania spinosa tree.
