So. I was at Target. And I just *happened* to be walking past the hair aisle, when a 3-pack of spin pins kind of caught my eye.
I know. I'm short of money.
But I honestly could not help myself. :p

So voila! My latest hair splurge..

They're amazing!! My hair's so thin, though, that just one bun looks disgraceful (you seriously have no idea). So three it is. :D
And I don't know if there is already a thread for this, but if not, post pictures of your SpinPin up-do's. (:

I don't have any pics handy, but spin pins ROCK! I want to get the smaller ones that are in the 3 pack. I have the larger ones and use them all the time. They are great for my fine, slippery hair!

The way you did your hair is very beautiful :) How did you secure the flower?

I have the mini spin pins, since my hair is pretty short right now, and really like them as well. I find I need at least two, usually all three, to hold a cinnabun securely. Going to give multiple buns a try later, I never thought that could look as elegant as you've done it :flower:

This makes me want to go buy some silk flowers and attach them to bobby pins! I love your hair style.

Of course I heard of/saw these AFTER my bleepin' ex-hair dresser chopped off all my hair.

I'm glad they're working for you and I can't wait to pick some up once my hair grows back a bit!

Spin pins and a flexi-8 are the only thing that holds the naughty mess in check right now.

I discovered spin pins about a month ago. Amazing! Almost all of my updo photos in my album are done with spin pins. I have the mini ones.

1 bought 1 package of spin pins[2 per package]-they didn't hold my bun up well,so after a while, 1 bought a 2nd package.1 found for me,using 4 spin pins does the trick[2 on top,2 on bottom or at side] It holds ,doesn't pull and is super comfy and they don't show!So if doesn't work well with 2 ,try 4 spin pins. Now 1 know why they are so popular.

How long does hair have to be for spin pins to work? I keep thinking about buying them so I can do something like two small buns, in lieu of pigtails, but my hair is probably a month and a half away from shoulder length.

Also, has anybody seen spin pins that are silver? I've only seen gold-toned and darker brown ones. if the goal is to blend into the hair, those won't work for me. :)

The dark ones get gray colored when their coating rubs off, which takes about two months of near-daily wear. Ask me how I know. :P

Goody makes them in bronzy gold and bronzy brown, both of which stand out in my hair. I love them anyhow.

I read where someone painted the ends to match their hair. You could try that.

Boomtownrat, they don't show much if at all,1 had to buy the dark ones as all the other colours were sold out here .1 usually buy the light colour. So the colour doesn't matter, since your hair is shorter try the "mini" spin pins-it will say" mini" on the package.Start with two,but you may need four.

They're so great! I can't wait until I can afford to splurge on a couple more. I got them in the blonde shade. Usually when I buy Goody colored bobby pins, I have to get them in brunette because their blonde ones are too light for me, but the color they used for the spin pins blends in fairly well with my dark-ish strawberry-ish blonde hair. I found the 3-pack mini spin pins at Target today, I bought the dark hair version. I've never used them before, is there some kind of trick to them? I took my hair out of the hairstick updo I was wearing and went for the two side-by-side mini-buns look. I had to use three in each to get the buns to feel secure, but they are still rather loose. Is this normal? Or, is there just a learning curve to putting the spin pins in your hair? My hair is too thick to make most single-bun styles, which is why I bought the minis. Besides, I like the dual bun look and wanted to be able to do that style without having to resort to hairbands.

Help me figure out how to use these little treasures!
