View Full Version : I cut my bangs!

It was strangely exhilarating. I've gotten so excited about it.
What used to be a fringe years ago had grown out to around arm pit length hair and was getting very wispy and fragile. I decided I like my face framing layers so I cut in slightly longer than chin length J bangs. I'm so happy, my hair around my face feels so much better not tangly and wispy. It's just long enough to put back, but short enough to keep out as pretty tendrils around my face. :)

I just had to share, normal people don't appreciate such things, but LHC will. :p

Sorry for the poor image quality.

That looks very pretty on you! :) I'm in the process of growing my old bangs out to, and want them at a similar length to yours that you have cut in!

Loving the hair colour too. :D

Growing out my bangs, right now they get pinned back so it looks like a tail is growing out, but yes, the framing layers are often the most abused and fragile.

It looks great and goes very well with your face shape. I have to say your color is droolworthy. Absolutely amazing!

Thank you :D
I use La Riche Directions in Rose Red to get the hair colour.

It looks very good! Did you use any special technique for cutting?

I took the section I wanted to cut, twisted it and then cut it. This way the outer strands end up slightly longer than the centre strands.

Your new bangs look so lovely! I've been contemplating doing something similar, but you're braver than I am.

It looks good! Having the option of leaving it out or putting it back is always nice, too.

I love, love, love having bangs - and not just because I look horrible without them. They give me hair that I cut regularly, so I don't have to worry so much about damage with, and can play with them freely, doing all the evil stuff I wouldn't subject hair I expected to stick around for years (or longer than about 6 months, given my rate of growth and length of my bangs) to. It's AWESOME.

I like it! The length suits you.

My fringe (which was eyebrow length last summer) is at about the same length, too. It's a great length - long enough to pull back yet short enough to leave out.

They look so cute! :)

I've been contemplating doing this myself, but haven't taken the plunge yet.

I love them!

I think that length of fringe is flattering on many people. I think it looks better to have some softness around the face rather than everything just pulled back tight. :)

It looks great. I like the twist technique...never tried it that way before.
