I found some very interesting pages of long hair by one photographer called Stan Shuttleworth here:

/rapunzellonghairarchive/stan.htm (http://www.angelfire.com/art/rapunzellonghair/rapunzellonghairarchive/stan.htm)

there are some pics of twin sisters from the 1960's ,they had super long hair, and in one image they had their hair in something like a braided "hat"? AMAZING HAIRSTYLE !

they were 13 in the pics...At age 17 they cut their hair as they joined a religious sisterhood order.

Oh wow those are some amazing pics! thank you for sharing.I'd have to say my favorite was one of the first ones of Glendeane. The one were it says she became part of the "hair club". it was such a very cute and insirational pic.

Wow! Fascinating pictures! This gives me some hope... it looks like their hair might be similar to mine. I wonder if I can grow mine to knee length!

Thanks, ReadHeadGirl, for those great links! Stan Shuttleworth certainly knew how to photograph long hair!!

I hadn't seen some of those photos of Mary Tucker before and the one of Glendeane with the beautiful braids was gorgeous.

While Mary Tucker's hair was fantastic, I think I liked Sylvia Edwards hair the most. Absolutely faultless!

My word they all had so much HAIR!

Absolutely amazing. Inspiring!

I can't wait until mine is long again! Hopefully it'll look a little bit more like theirs this time...

That under-the-chin braid I imagine would itch like crazy.
