So, I killed my Scunci BBB. I noticed the rubber grip band around the handle was pulling out my hair! So, I decided to pull it off to see what was under it and the handle is in two parts. So now there's a big gap that can REALLY yank out my hair. I think it's time to chuck it.

I believe I'll hit Sally's on the way to the BFs house tonight. If they have Denman I may get one of their BBBs, but do you guys have any recommendations for brushes Sally's carries? How are the Spornette BBBs?

While I'm at it, do they have any shower combs that don't have SEAMS? My Mebco is going in the trash because I can't even sand off the seams!

It's time for me to handle my fine/thick hair more gently...

I think you could fix your old BBB. You know those play-doh thingies they sell for kids? The ones which harden in contact with the air. You can buy a bag of that(it's small, was ok for a 2 inch high ball) and it cost less than a dollar(in Soviet Romania, money buys you).
I have no idea about the WTCs, but perhaps look for something from wood. They are sand-able and generally crafted decently.
Oops. I just noticed the word 'shower'. Ignore that^

Well, they did not have Denman brushes at my Sally's, so I got a Brush Strokes brush, which was super cheap. It was $5.99 for a large BBB paddle brush. It's very soft and gentle and has no nylon mixed in. The handle is wooden although it's so lightweight it sure feels like plastic! But for the money, it will have to do until I start my new job and can upgrade. It doesn't penetrate as much as the Scunci, but it's fine if I section my hair as I brush it. I think it's more gentle, as well. Not bad. Love a bargain.

Oh and I got a Babyliss scalp massager brush to use as my shower comb. It has big silicone bristles that have no seams and feels very soft.

I use that scalp massager in the shower too. It broke after a couple of months use (the plastic cover that keeps the silicone in), but fixed it with crazy glue :)

I purchased a BBB from Sally's a few days ago. The "Brush Strokes, 217202". Its one of the softer bristle versions and it glides through my hair nicely but I find that I need to brush both over and under my hair because it doesn't go all the way through it. I paid less than $2 for it!

I think I may go back and purchase one of the stronger bristle ones for full brushing and save this one for quick touch ups/finishing because it really does make my hair look nice.
