View Full Version : Another ponytail idea~ using a Greek-key braid (pictures :-)

I tried something a little simpler today~ and really liked the results!

First I put on the hairband, to dress things up; then I put my hair in a low ponytail. I braided my ponytail into one long Greek-key braid~ a regular (Dutch) braid made with two large sections of hair and one tiny section of hair. (I find the Dutch method works better for me than the English method, when I'm braiding two large sections and one tiny section together. Personal preference, I guess :) )

I tied off the end of my braid with a ponytail holder, then looped it up twice into two big loops. I held the loops in place with two butterfly clips. (I anchored these to the top ponytail holder, and they carried all the weight of my hair plus stayed in place the entire day!)

Thanks so much for looking! I really like the look of the Greek-key braid~ I think it looks similar to hair-taping, but you're wrapping your hair with hair not ribbon.

This is lovely, I hadn't even heard of the Greek braid before seeing this thread. I might try it out myself!

I really like it, too! It looks best when it's left hanging straight down,
but my hair is too long for that!
