Waist By Christmas Club

Hi!! me and some other members on the BSL to Waist thread noticed that there are many members who should reach waist by Christmas! Well heres a thread just for us to post our progress pics, our tips and methods were using to get to that length by then and to just excitedly wait for December and of course our waist length hair we will be receiving from Santa!!. :D And of course we'll all have to show each other our hair come the end of December ;) Enjoy and happy growing!!! :rolling:

I should be waist by Christmas too if I keep up my summer growth of 1" a month. I'm using Monistat once a week, part for the growth and part to control the scalp, and keeping my hair up.

Mine too :D then all of us here will have a great start at the beggining of the next year for truly long lengths ;) well.. i will be shooting for hip by march and then most likely maintaining for two years to get rid of highlighting damage, layers, and bangs.. then on to tlb!! then classic!! then who knows ive always wanted hair dragging on the floor when i was little :D

i wish i was brave enough to try monistat :o i take multivits but only because i cant eat as much as i should be and i hate veggies and im a tad underweight. without them my hair sheds badly :(

I think I fit under the definition of wurly/curly, especially when my hair is left to its own devices. But the longer it gets, the more it stretches itself. They are currently eating 3 or 4 inches off my length I think, but I'm not too worried about it. The upside is, if anyone ever sees my hair soaking wet they get even more impressed :p

Depending on how fast my hair grows, it's possible I *might* be at waist by Christmas. If I don't quite make it, I'll definitely be there some time in January. It's just past BSL and heading into MBL now. It's hard to tell exactly how many inches I need, but if I don't do any big trims between now and then, I should be very close by the end of the year.

Numbers are never going to be accurate, everyone's body is different. Waist is generally the slimmest part under your rib-cage and above your hip bones. Mine is apparently 1 inch above my belly button too :cool:

well when i was elementry i had it past classic :D my mom always kept my hair long and in a mullet like thing that she ct herself as i guess that was the style :o my aunt has a picture of me in diapers with a wavy mullet down to my butt lol and i think i can do it.ive never expereinced thin or fairytail ends before and i have great hair genes so i reallythink my term might be after my hair hits the floor and drags around :D and my fiance is very excited that i might go for that after i get all the damage out :) i estimamated how long t would take one day and have it wrte down somewhere if i can find it :o

So I CO washed for the first time in over a year. Since I wash daily I decided to alternate with CO washing for now to experiment. Oh, oh! I'll be there for sure... as long as I put the scissors away too. I got two more inches to go. I've gotten a little too laid back with the oiling since its summer time (found out coconut oil is too heavy) and now I find the ends are really sensitive... especially the bleached chunks.

i'll be trying that out when most or my layers have grown out :) i want to cut my own hair and i would love to learn to cut hair at college!!! i want to be the kind of hairdressser long hairs and all others can trust to LISTEN and be kind ask questions about details of the cut they want before and during the cut insted of going with it like some hairdressers do.. i have alot of hairdressers in my family that own their own salons or work at top notch salons. they are all very proffesional and make lots of money but i only want it as a side thing at home and one day to maybe have my own salon like my relatives :) sorry i got side tracked :o

yea I totally agree with the fact that hair always looks like it's shorter in the front.. I won't consider my hair to be long till it is an inch past my boobs (benefit of having small ones its not so far for my hair to grow lols).. I think that it'll be at waist length in the back though at the same time.. So I don't think that'll be until christmas.. gahh

welcome everyone new :D so glad to hear that so many will have a very special christmas this year :D maybe afterards we can start a tailbone or classic by christmas 2012 thread :D well im also happy to report that with the no cones, protein every three weeks and DT every week my hair has made a complete 180 from getting my blonde highlights! :) oh and to add to the being waist in the front i have fairly small breasts so my hair only looks about a inch or two shorter :) its almost past them actually :D

welcome everyone new :D so glad to hear that so many will have a very special christmas this year :D maybe afterards we can start a tailbone or classic by christmas 2012 thread :D well im also happy to report that with the no cones, protein every three weeks and DT every week my hair has made a complete 180 from getting my blonde highlights! :) oh and to add to the being waist in the front i have fairly small breasts so my hair only looks about a inch or two shorter :) its almost past them actually :D

Congrats on the 180º!! I have noticed a BIG difference myself since just using the poobars, acv rinse & a weekly co treatment. I've been only air drying and we waves are finally coming out. :D

My bottom layer is at my waist now but my shortest layers are still only BSL. Hopefully by Christmas the majority of my hair will be down there at my waist. Until then I feel kind of weird telling people I've waist long hair cause most of it isn't.

I had my hair this morning in a towel turban and I let it loose so it could finish air drying. I felt the tips brush against my lower back and I froze.. I've kind of been ignoring my hair length for a few months.

Anyhow, I immediately ran up to the bathroom to check on the length. WOO! I'm one inch closer to my goal!!

I'm jumping on this bandwagon as well! My hair is at BSL now and I figured it needs about 5" to be at Waist. I'll have to be dilligent at taking good care of my hair and scalp. I'm doing hot oil treatments at least once a week now and am thinking of doing SMTs. I have just started castor oil scalp massages and I just picked up some Monistat ;) today. I had planned on one trim between now and then but maybe I'll make it a dusting instead. Hopefully these strategies will work. :o Any suggestions or encouragement are gladly accepted. :D

This is the first time I think I'm going to say this, but I hate my tapered layers. The longest part of my hair is now (as of the weekend) waist when I stretch the wurls out (not taut, but stretched). But between my wurls and the taper, it doesn't look like it. Also, it will take forever for my shortest layer to grow out (its just past APL)

Now I'm hoping for it to be waist length with wurls by christmas :cheese:

i agree :) though i went from washing twice a day with clarifying shampoo without condish (EEK!!!) to every other day with diluted shampoo and TONS of condish :D i love how soft just stretching a little can make your hair!!! yay for stretching washes!!! :D

Wow that's some serious washing, as i have wavy hair to begin with its pretty dry already. When i joined my hair was shoulder length and just before my anniversary my hair was about 2 inches shy of waist, i only cut to get rid of layers!:mad:

i didnt know my hair was wavy until i stopped over washing! i even have some spirals in the longest layers :D i wish i could cut out my layers but there above shoulders :( but i cant sacrifice length.. one day i want my classic legnth hair back that i had when i was little :D (hey i just figured out how to use a hairstick just now :D lol i did the hold as in a pony the make a loop wrap it around the base spread the loop half to each side then a stick (well, color pencil painted with nail polish) in the middle) :)

hmm.. i always find my hair grows super fast when i eat tons of protein.. which is easy for me sense i dont eat veggies and fruits lol (i do take a complete multi vitamin)

OK, I had Mr. Puddin' head measure for me and I'm still at 24 1/2". Maybe its still to early in the month and it just hasn't grown yet. I would love to grow another inch this month like in June though I wouldnt mind a 1/2" as long as the growth is healthy.

I'm taking my multivitamins more regularly now, drinking more water and enjoying rooibos tea. I also just started caster oil. Waist length isn't actually at the waist band of your pant's. So it is a good chance you might already be at waist length. :) Some consider waist to be at elbow length, an 1" above belly button, or below your last rib. I think I'm gonna go with with the elbow length and see how that goes. :cheese:

When I pull my longest pieces straight with my fingers my hair is one finger width away from waist, so a quarter of an inch. However, since my hair has a very wurls, that means when not stretched the longest pieces are about 3/4 of an inch away. Since I have some taper and I V/U hem, I figure I can get to solid waist my Christmas! Here's to hoping!! I'd post pics but I feel like my ends are sad and thin and not up to HC standards... Due to previous chemical processing from BSL down my hair changes from thick and full looking to quite thin. I think the photos make it look worse than it seems in person though.

Thank you :D:D And no, not classic!! I'd be scared of what my hair would look like by classic, it would probably consume one of my cats. My goal is really just waist length or maybe a few more inches. I really should change my thickness to "iii" it's just so fine the measurements aren't technically there... The thickness is actually starting to become my bane, it makes this whole learning up-dos thing so much harder :mad: but I guess in the long run I'm glad it's there!

I wish I could take real credit for the shine though. I swear it's just the camera flash or something, it has been rather dull lately in person :( this picture's about 5 months old, but it's a bit more representative. STILL a nicer color than it really is! GAH Why does the flash make my color stop sucking?! I just need to have a bright-ass light follow me around apparently. :cool:

I did cut out my msm last month though because I ran out and couldn't afford any at the moment...maybe when I reintroduce it, it will help my hair TAKE OFF in length!!!

ok, i've had an inch and a half of growth in the last 2 months,( cut back at 27 in july), realistically, i could grow an inch and a half from now to christmas and be half an inch above waist BUT: if i'm really good and treat it the best i can and have a magical growth spurt, i could be at waist by then....So i'll join and cross my fingers i make it :D

As far as I know, "waist" will be the narrowest part of your torso. For a lot of people, that's around bellybutton-- but that's certainly not so for me!

I originally thought I would be waist by Christmas but the other day I was doing a S & D and discovered there was just to many splits to avoid a trim any longer. So, for the 1st time I trimmed my hair. My ends look much better now!!

Ooh, I think I might be able to join the club! I just measured by hair this evening, and I'm at 27 inches now! :cheer: And this was right after taking my hair down from a rose bun, so it was super wavy and poofy.

My waist is at 30 inches, so three more to go! Maybe if I treat my hair REALLY nice I'll get close my Christmas.

Oh, the layers! I can't wait to get rid of them either! I'm just too chicken to cut it all off at once so I decided to maintain at waist until my layers catch up. I wish I was as brave as you are though!

Thanks, i was going to do the same as you then i got impatient and thought if i got rid of most of them now i won't have to cut a load off at waist length. Its not so bad i'm about 25 inches now i think and waist is about 27 on me;)

I've got a good inch or two before I'm solidly at waist but hopefully I will get there :D I have a few strands that are nearly there, but that's not counted. I think waist for me would be when my hair is 30 or 31 inches and I'm at 28.5 now. Fingers crossed for everyone that we make it :D

Amarante how long is your hair currently?? and where does waist hit on you?? Well, I just measured and I'm at a solid 25". So I cut off about 1/2". Two inches to go until I reach waist. So it's more in likely I'll be waist shortly after Christmas. Perhaps around February or so. Long as my hair is healthy, that's all that matters.

I just measured my just washed wavy hair, that's normally when its its at its shortest and there is now only 2 inches between the length and waist length:D

I think I'm going to do a microtrim today. Hopefully, it won't derail me too badly from getting as long as I can for Christmas!!!! It's been since April since I've had a trim I think, so it might help my hair look and feel healthier like his!

My ends were in rougher condition than I thought they were, so I'm hoping this is the only trim I'll have to do until next April or so. I also hope that the "rumour" is true, that "hair grows faster after a trim". We'll have to see. Boy, does it feel better though, and the wavies are back in full force...I can see them with soaking wet hair!!!! I'll try to post a pic when my hair is dry to assess how drastically I shortened it...thank Goodness...it will grow again. I'll have to change my sig pic too! :D:o

I just measured yesterday and was at 29 1/2" , and waist should be around 31-32" for me. Sooooo close! :D

Cheers for healthy length at waist. ;) I will probably trim one or two times more before Christmas, but I think I might make it because my hair has been growing almost 1" per month. How fast does yours grow? Maybe you could make it before February? :cheer:

I just realized that because of my trimming schedule, I probably won't make waist by Xmas. I'll make waist by January though. In a way I'm kind of bummed because waistlength hair for xmas sounds awesome. But on the other hand, I didn't even expect to make waist sooner than say Feb. I'm honestly just thankful for all the growth I've gotten.
