Has anybody tried washing their hair with honey? Just honey? I was intrigued by the idea after switching to honey as a natural face wash, and seeing how well it dissolves oil. The honey itself dissolves easily in water, so no rinsing problems. I've tried it a couple times now in my hair and really like it. Anybody else ever try this?

Well if you leave it on long enough you might start lightening your hair- check out the "honey lightening" pages here.

Honey is great to use as a face wash, but I would not use it everyday. Although it seems very smooth, it actually has tiny crystals that will exfoliate your face( yes, even the smooth honey sold in bear bottles).

Knowing this, I wonder whether this exfolliating action might happen to the hair shaft itself, considering many of us at LHC use ( heated honey, so no provide....) in moisture treatments. Could the softness we experience be in part to smoothing of shaft by exfolliation aka thinning the hair....or simply moisture.....?

I guess it would count as a scalp scrub....
