After a bad dye job I've decided the permanency of henna should do the trick. I hope it looks okay. I did two strand tests of the red and brown shades of my hair. It came out okay. But strand tests sometimes lie on my hair and the end result comes out completly different.
I shall update later with photos!
Update!
I used Lushs Caca brun

WOW!! It looks so natural! You can't even tell you had different colours and shades before. It just looks like sunkissed light light brown.

Omg that is amazing I had no idea Lush caca brun could give such a nice brown colour! Oh this is so confusing for me as I thought henna couldn't give a brown colour, now I'm thinking that might be what I should do.
Your hair looks so healthy now! My question though is, isn't this kinda darker than your natural colour? Are you gonna do roots applications after this or full head ones? I'm very interested in knowing how this is gonna turn out in terms of upkeep for you, particularly as your hair grows fairly fast.
Can't wait to see your hair at the meet!

It's a little darker than my natural hair, I'm hoping the difference won't be too drastic. I have 3 squares of henna left out of the six. I'm going to use the rest for roots but as soon as I run out I think I'm going to grow it out and go natural.

Their caca brun has indigo and a couple of other powders - nettle & Irish moss according to the website.

Henna on its own wouldnt, the lush brun has a little indigo which is what gives the lovely brown colour. Its basically a weak hendigo.

I see, thanks for the clarification jojo. I see that both kyiandii and I are trying to go back to our natural roots after being bleached blondes, but I am so impressed by her results with Lush.
I don't know why I have this fear of indigo turning my hair blue or green, maybe I ought to have tried Lush caca brun instead of doing a semi-perm dye. Definitely worth investigating in the future.
