I searched this topic, and I got some results, but I want to specify: I have thin-ish hair and I want something that won't look weird because of it. I love buns, but mine are so small, even though my hair is WL. I'm worried about doing something down, though, because my dress is ivory and I have dark hair, so any thinness will show...

Also, I don't have bangs and won't get bangs. Is there any other way to soften whichever style I do? I don't want to look like a stern librarian on my wedding day! :)

Any suggestions are welcome! :D

My hair was just above waist length for my wedding, and is also dark-ish and quite thin at the ends. I basically gave it a little curl for volume and wore it half-up in a barrette so it would give some thickness down my back. (Curling your hair will eat up some of the length, though.)

You can do this loosely so it's softer around your face, do a side part with faux sideways bangs, etc.

How about a side swept, low bun? But instead of twisting the hair, have them curl sections and then pin them for a softer look. Something like this:

I'd say a fully-rolled sock bun made with a super-fat sock as the base. Congrats on your wedding!!!

I thought that you were married. Congrats on your wedding :) I like your hair a lot I think it is very pretty and the ends don't look too thin to me, I also love your color and think an ivory dress will be beautiful!
Another vote for the curls in a half up! :P
I love braided styles for weddings though

Flexi 8 has a beautiful white pearl flexi and also a clear aurea borealis with dangles. You could wear a half up in a bun with one of these flexis or a full bun with a larger size flexi or a french twist with them.Looks unique but is so easy and hair friendly.

You can also get a lovely white fork and add decorations of your choice to it and wear your hair in a twist or bun.

A long french braid with flowers woven through it would look so great also!

How about this bun with a white ribbon and flowers? I had something very similar as a brides maid once.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! Everything looks beautiful. Some of them are TOO beautiful, I think... :P I'm going to be wearing a Spanish-style veil with embroidery on the edges, so I don't want my hairstyle to make it look too busy, ya know? But I'll be taking the veil off for the reception, so maybe I should do a hairstyle that is simple, but that I could add hairtoys to for the reception... hmmm. :)

I'll add some photos to show you all what I'm working with-- I'm sure that should make it easier.

(Don't worry, the yellow flower is temporary-- it's just keeping the veil clipped in until I put the comb on it!)

(Here it is from the front. My head isn't really that big! And I'm not really that short! Hehe. Anyway, I'd like to soften the hairline, but I'm not sure how to do that with my hair up/back... in this photo, it's just in my everyday twisty-bun.)

Another issue is that my dress has embroidery starting mid-back, so if I wore my hair down, it would cover part of it. I'm not sure how that would look...

(My hair down would end around where the embroidery ends in the back...)

(This one's just for fun... pink flowers!!!)

And dulce, you've got me thinking about earrings now!!! I hadn't even considered that, which is strange, since I wear earrings every day. I don't have diamonds... I think pearls would look nice with my dress, and I've got some ivory ones... maybe I'll try that out. Any other earring suggestions, anyone??? :)

To those who were wondering: I have been living with my "DH" as a married couple for three years, but we never had a ceremony because of family issues-- to our friends and family IRL, we aren't married. :)
