In my long absence from LHC I have managed to master the making of the French Braid- after many years of practice!! So now looking for some variants of the style. I can also do the dutch braid- although dont like it much on my ownhair, gave me a headache. Any ideas?

Well, there's the lace French "Dutch" or "English" braid around your head.

Or the French "Dutch" braid down the center of your head

Or a combo French "Dutch" braid with mini braids..(i.e. the Victorian)

Half up French "Dutch" braids...and tons more! Those French "Dutch" and "English" braids are so versatile!!

Well, you can do a lace french braid as a headband (torrin paige has a youtube video). Although that's a little difficult to manuever around your head. You can also experiment with adding ribbons using a yarn needle to a finished braid, or doing it sideways. You can do two french braids on either side and bun them together. Arc691 has some cool updos posted with braids. I remember one she had two lace braids on either side (meaning you only add hair to one of the sections at a time) and then did a braided bun with the rest of the length. Happy braiding :cheese:
