OK, so *literally* after several hours of trying to figure out how to do a spread loop bun which turned into FAILBUN many, many times, I gave up and decided to do something I'm usually too lazy for, but I figured even my medium length hair would work with.

I'm a medical transcriptionist and wear headphones all day, so this hair style was PERFECT! Woohoo...at least I can make SOMETHING work.

Yay for french braids!!!! Once you get quick at them, they are such a lifesaver!

Yeah, I had tried for years and could not do it, even knowing the theory of how to do it. An old roommate of mine taught me how to use each of the fingers of the hand as a claw to grip each strand. Now I can do a french and a reverse french braid without even looking! (I didn't look when I did this one)

YAY! So comfy.

Yay! I'm so happy for your braiding skills! Here have some celebratory :cheese:
My camp counselor taught me when I was 11 or 12, she can probably be credited with making me love my (at that time) APL hair! ...And it is still one of my all-time favorites!

My roommate was a long hair back then and could bun her hair with NOTHING and it stayed. My hair was to my waist back then too but I always wore it half up with a barrette - not too interesting! After I begged her she sat with me for a couple hours until I figured it out - now I can do it as long as I can hold my arms up that long - ouch!

YAY CHEESE. Cheese has to be good for hair!

One reason I love the french braid is that I get migraines - this is the way to have it up and completely evenly distributed and nothing pulling on my scalp.

So true (for headaches), Frenching is the master of all dos! :D Not to mention the fact that is an arm strengthening exercise...Booyah!

I want to know why I can do THIS but the fake split loop bun thing was too complicated for me to figure out?! Sigh!

Pretty! I really want to learn how to french braid... I didn't learn a basic braid until I was 23! ha. But better late then never ;)

Looks great!

I CANNOT get a braid like that. I can do it on someone else's head, but on my own I can only get the plait to sit on top. I feel like I need to be able to dislocate my shoulders to get it!
