I have BSL hair with slight layers. I'd like to use some of the new forks I have gotten, but my ends always seem to poke out--then the whole thing falls apart.
What am I doing wrong? What updos work for my length?

What styles have you tried so far?

Mostly just a cinnamon bun. I have looked at a lot of YouTube videos and tried the styles (Nautilus and a few others I can't remember??) but my hair doesn't seem long enough. :-/ But that could just be me--I'm not new to long hair, but I used to just do a basic bun and braid. So I'm lost at the unique styles. Especially with a fork...

I'm in the same bout as you! I've been doing the split bun pretty much everyday because it's easy and comfy but I really need to change it up a little. *watches this thread like a hawk*

Here's a few styles that I think might work:

Manderly Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=89)
Cheater's Easy Hairstick Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=138)
Orchid Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=211)
Split Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=159)
Braided Base Chinese Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=128)
Lazy Wrap Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=72)
Braid over braid updo (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=63)
Easy Hairstick Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=48)
Classic Chinese Bun (http://www.longhaircommunity.com/forums/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=15)

Good luck!

Thank you so so much!
Can I just use a fork in place of a hair stick, or do the style without the stick and add the fork at the end to hold it together?

It will take some experimenting, I think. Some of them, I can use the fork in place of the hairstick (I've done it with the Chinese bun successfully, for example), but others I like to pierce with the fork afterwards, like the Lazy Wrap or the Orchid buns.
