I have been trying to learn some new hairstyles that braid from the top of the head. I have learnt a few, but they all lean too much to the right. I really cant seem to keep them in the centre.

I know it is practice, but it has been a while and I cannot get them to stay central (very jealous of Torrin Paige xD).

Any tips for getting them in the centre? I don't have anyone to help me.

Thanks :)

For all french and dutch styles, the trick for steering braids in the right direction is in collecting the new chunks of hair as you go. This sounds like an odd suggestion, but you might try parting your hair before braiding and collect the new pieces from the center back, rather than starting to pick the hair up near your face and running your finger to the braid, at least while you are still practicing.

I don't part mine in advance, but I will sometimes start collecting new hair just under the braided area and move out toward my face this way, especially if I am doing frenched pigtails.
