Hi, I'm new here! :)
I need a little assistance with classifying my hair. Please help!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b335/transitbum/Hair/hair_06jul2011.jpg
I read the descriptions carefully but I'm still struggling to make sure I'm putting in the right information. The hair has a bit of wave, especially towards the ends, but it seems fairly straight to me. But then after a shower I can take out the excess moisture with a towel then scrunch the hair in my hands and it makes ringlets all over! (These usually relax out for the most part as the hair dries but they will stay if I put some gel in.) So is my guess of 1c/2a ok?
The hairs are pretty fine with some mediums and the odd coarse one thrown in. I think F is probably the most descriptive, or maybe F/M. Maybe I should take a pic of that too.
I measured over 7cm with my hair tightly gathered which was a shock to me. I thought for sure it would be i but I guess that's a pretty solid ii from the description.
Lastly, what IS that length?? BSL? I have some layers too, which I'll probably keep because for some reason having a blunt cut makes me want to cut my hair shorter. (I don't understand that mentality at all... does anyone else get it??)
Thanks in advance! :cheese:

I think you've classified yourself pretty well!
I'd say you're 1c, F/M, and a ii! :)
That looks about BSL to me, and maybe an inch or so over!

Your hair looks waist length to me, but then again, I'm new to the terms used here. I've been reading 'waist length' being described as falling at the smallest part of your back, and it looks to me like your back curves in right around where your hair is falling.
I think your shirt could maybe be a little confusing to people trying to figure out your length, since it's so long, it the end of it is around your tailbone, not your hips or waist

I think it's a 1c/2a, F/M hair and it looks slightly past waist to me too! I'm also going by the narrowest part of your torso which looks about 1.5" or so higher than the longest strands of your hair!

Thanks all! :D On closer inspection I think that photo might be a little off in perspective... I had a closer look at the length from front and side and it is allllmost but not quite at the narrowest point of my figure. (not to mention that point is usually a little lower on my torso but has had a recent 'raise' from my awesome pregnancy love handles, lol! :cookie::cookie::cookie:)
The hair is definitely past my bra band though. So I think I'll be conservative and say mid-back... that's MBL, right? Woo! I'm almost at waist! :cheese:

I think I'd call it 1c. It looks a little less sure that it wants to be wavy than my hair typically does, but that might change with time.
I'd call your length "waist" from the picture. Look at the side where your arm is down -- the hair is definitely past the narrowest part of you. (Remember, it tends to be shorter when you bring it to the front. And waist moves with weight changes for most of us. Who cares? Call it waist! If you waist drops 3 inches when the preggo-lovehandles go, so be it.)

You seem to be right on the dot, 1c/2a to me, F/M hair, ii thickness?
And you are at waist to me! The skinniest part of the torso right?

I agree with waist length.
And what gorgeous color you have! I'm so jealous of those deep, rich brunettes without the reddish highlights that my hair is soooo full of.

Looks waist to me too. Your other info looks correct also. Not sure on the curliness 'cause I still am unsure on that. :)

Oh, jfeg, shudduppp about your reddish highlights! ;)
I'm jealous! I've craved reddish highlights for as long as I can remember! (see! http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=73837 )
I even asked for them one time why I was younger, and they just turned out blondish. My highlights didn't seem even slightly strawberry to me :?

Even though our waist can move up and down, your elbows are also a pretty good marker, and you look waist to me :).

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was looking from the front, at hair falling over the back. Mind you I looked at it again from the side today and it looked like it grew an inch overnight (I wish!) and was indeed at the smallest point. Waist it is!

Thanks! You're too kind. :o Though I do have to say my hair does have a moderate amount of red in it... for some reason it's quite fickle and shows up extremely dark in photos. It is dark, especially compared to my pale skin tone, but it's not THAT dark.
Thanks so much, everyone! I tallied and changed my details to the majorities. :)
