Ok so my Chi Silk infusion smells amazing but I only use it once after a wash now and I wash 3x a weeks. I had a couple other super coney products that smelled great and I would use between washings but without them and the addition of the oils, the light scent from my conditioner is gone after a day :(
Any suggestions?

I don't know if they're safe (i.e. damaging) but what about essential oil and water in a spray bottle or perfume?

This may not be an option for you, but I find that I can make the secnt of a product last by letting my hair dry styled (ie. braided, in a bun, etc). When I take it down the next day, the fragrance is much stronger than if I air dry it as usual (down).

Aveda PureFume hair gloss is coney but it makes your hair smell amazing! Almost 20 years ago, my friend introduced me to it because she was a heavy smoker and it would take the cig smell away from her hair.

I have this zum spray that smells pretty nice (lemon and geranium) and I like to use it on my hair, my clothes, or on my room when i can remember. You can make your own though, the only reason I got it was because it came free with the soap. You can get the ingredients anywhere, although you can also look into buying hydrosols from mountainroseherbs.com (an alternative to the EO in water mix). I'm not that informed on them though...
Zum Spray Ingredients (the company is called indigo wild):
Purified water, pure essential oils, aloe and vegetable glycerin.

ooooh I will look into that. I'm not opposed to using a little bit of a coney product once a week (actually my hair needs it right now). That's one thing that I hate...co workers smoking and me going home wreaking of cigs. Yick. I quit nearly two years ago and never realized how bad it smelled! Ugh I feel horrible for anyone I ever smoked around.
I've been trying some EO but haven't found any I like and/or last yet...

You can always wet your hands, add a little of the conditioner you like to smell ( a pea size amount at first) and rub it on your hands then run your fingers/hands through your hair.
Or use Bpal (essential oil perfumes) or a little bit of essential oil on your hands, run through hair.
That way, your oils or conditioner are working as a styling aid and making your hair smell good at the same time.

I recently made some of that Curly Girl lavender spritz recipe, but I use rose water as the base. I did this more for the scent than for Curly Girl use. Somebody started a thread on sea salt spray recipes in the Recipes forum, and I was looking at that and thinking what sort of beachy scents I could use in it.

I agree the Zum mists are great, I've tried the lavender mint, patchouli, peppermint/spearmint..they work as a home/room spray, as a fabric mist, body spray, hair mist. Another great one is Hugo Naturals mist. The vanilla orange is my favorite, it smells like a dreamsicle. It works nicely on the hair too because it's so light, you don't get build up or have your hair be weighed down by it.

I keep my hair up in a bun or down in a rope braid. My hair always smells good for a couple of days after a shampoo. But if I wear it down or if I'm exposed to smoke, I use Tresemme Freshstart. It's an odor neutralizing spray with a light citrus fragrance. It costs less than $5 and it works great for me.

I put essential oils in my hair oil. Love the earthy-flowery smell that lavender, geranium, thyme and cedar give!

I love monoi oil i get the tiare scent. EO's in a spritzer are good but dont last long on me. A little condish as a leave in on occasion works. I find my hair holds scent better if its applied to damp hair.

Natalia, is there anyway to describe the scent of monoi?
I'm thinking about buying an oil that contains monoi and jojoba, and the smell is described as 'exotic'... :)

Well sometimes monoi is used to describe coconut oil which i'll assume you know what coconut smells like. What i buy is this - http://www.monoi.com/oil.html - in tiare which is gardenia but they have other scents too.

I don't want to use coconut oil for scent because it goes solid in a spray, so I got some coconut flavoring on the baking aisle. It's artificial, but it's edible, so I'm ok with that.

This one says Gardenia Tiara. Thanks! Coconut is nice. 'Exotic' made me think it would smell like a thousand flowers and a thousand fruits in a crazy mix.

That's a great idea! Just be careful about whether it's an alcohol-based flavoring, since alcohol can be drying for hair...

Hello hydration lasted on my hair for about 3 days (and by then my hair's greasier than a chip pan lol), Lee Stafford lasts but it's a very marmite smell (love it or hate it, it doesn't actually smell like marmite), very perfumey though

Really? I find that argan oil has no discernible scent.

I like Organix stuff. It often smells like coconuts or something delicious. And their stuff is not bad for the hair.:disco:

Essential oils added to J&J No More Tangles makes my finger combing easy and my hair smells delicious!

My leave in conditioner makes my hair smell amazing. My shampoo also has this fruity smell that stays for 2 days after washing. I think it's some chemicals, but the shampoo itself isn't very damaging.

I got some herbs to make hair tea rinses in an attempt to find a good "natural" detangler. The one I tried last week was made with Fenugreek Seed Powder. Wow! It left a great sweet, herbal scent in my hair for days. I loved it and it didn't do bad as a detangler either! :p
