Ok, so I need a little help and enlightenment from the updo gurus...

How do you get your hair stick or fork to remain vertical in your hair?!

I've returned to LHC after quite a hiatus (several reasons), and one of the things which drew me back was that I'm bored with doing my current two buns - the Gibraltar and a Cinnabun - over and over. It wasn't so much an issue before because I could leave my hair down more...now it needs to be UP for work.

So on Saturday I tried the treble-clef bun...which actually came out closer to an equilibrium.

The problem is that, if the fork or stick have any hold at all, my hair ALWAYS seems to twist the stick/fork around until it it lying almost completely horizontal.

The one and only exception is with the Gibraltar bun (my "go-to" style) and I can get it to remain at a 45degree diagonal because the bun virtually holds itself - the stick is more just decoration.

I don't think it's the length (pretty much knee-length now), because I've always had this problem.

So if anyone has any helpful hints, please share!

TIA!

I think it depends on the bun. Cinnamon buns always make my sticks move.
