Hello!

I've made a solemn vow to myself. I simply cannot purchase another hairstick until I learn to use what I currently own. Try as I might, I can't seem to get the hang of nice updos with hairsticks. My hair is BSL, sightly wavy, and layered. Unfortunately, I don't have the kind of gorgeous, silky smooth hair that feels like satin and drapes in lovely ways when put up. I've always desired that kind of hair, but mine is thick and fairly coarse, so it doesn't always "lay" nicely (if that makes sense).

I particularly love Celtic Knot buns, though I've had trouble with them, and perhaps my hair isn't quite long enough. I also love braids of any kind.

Any tips- and particularly pictures- would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I just do a regular ol' cinnabun, a chinese bun(http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=15), and now I'm trying to learn how to do the infinity bun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyc-1cT9_AE&feature=channel_video_title

Most of the styles on this page can be done on BSL. Some can be done even on APL.

The pencil bun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0k3dD4qX34) is a great bun that I wear almost everyday (either that or a cinnabun). I can get it held with 2 hair sticks (though I don't really use hair sticks) and my hair is REALLY hard to get secured (I usually have to use spin pins).
Also the Gibraltar bun is a good bun, too. I can get this held with one stick and it's rock solid (http://archive.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=55541)
Hope this helps!
