It looks like a Herringbone braid to me.

Looks like a herringbone to me too. But like she did it so that a big lock of hair was used for her left side and they pulled small pieces all the way from her right.

Going by how the hair's laying on the right under the pieces worked into the braid, I'd guess it was a side cage braid, very intricately done (with more sections added in than usual). The main braid itself looks to be a three-strand braid to my eyes.

It looks like a basic french herringbone braid, done very loosely on top and less loose on the bottom. But it's a herringbone braid for sure!

ETA: Here is a link for a tutorial, just do it really loose and start higher up and you should get a similar look.

Yep the upper part is a cage braid, slowly morphing into a regular herringbone braid it seems ?

A herringbone made in akind of a one-sided cage-braid techinqe? That is so frigging gorgeous! Thanks for posting... I just did a very loose herringbone braid today, which looked kind of cool but didn't hold very well :hmm: A perfect midsummer style I'd say!
