Here is my new styling friend. I have not come up with a name yet.
I bought her so I could learn how to do new styles on her before attempting it on me. I had tried to learn styled on my 8 year old fidgitty daughter's hair (she has beautiful waist length hair) but she can't sit still for more than a second!

And here is my first ever attempt at a French rope braid.

I know I'm going to have such fun with her. Now what to name her...

Oh and her hair is synthetic.

Ahh I'd love one of those things! I saw a trainee hairdresser using one at a salon the other day, and thought how cool it would be to practice on. My dd now has short hair, so I can't do much on hers, and even if it was long, she'd still fuss and scream LOL. It's also much harder to practice stuff on myself, since I've generally got to do it on the back of my head .

I'm going to buy my daughter a Girls World styling head (remember them from the 70's?) so she can play at doing hair too.
This styling head was dirt cheap. As it's synthetic hair it was only £5 off eBay.

Oh my gosh, I want one! Where did you get her? How much did she cost??

I'm totally investing in a styling friend, lol.

You can buy them really cheaply on eBay. Mine was super cheap as her hair is synthetic and the girl was a hairdressing student and had meant to buy a real hair one but bought it by mistake so she sold it.

BUT .. I'm so going to use this idea .. my daughter 17 has one of these tucked away, so I'll be on the lookout for it ..

Brilliant. That's her new name but I'll shorten it to Diva.

I'm obsessed!
Now Diva has a blunt fringe like me.
Now all the updos I learn will give me a better idea of what they will look like in my hair.

Hee hee, I love it. Just make sure you don't do any more cutting- its not like its gonna grow back!

I promise I won't cut any more. She's got on now a rather fetching purple headband to flatten the fringe overnight. Her hair style is now close enough to mine to give me a good idea how the styles will look on me.

Give you all a laugh.

I walked into the kitchen after putting the chickens to bed and caught her in the corner of my eye and jumped about 10 feet in the air in fright. My stupid brain thought for a moment there was someone sitting at my kitchen table!
