My sister made me a "workout headband" using this tutorial (http://holy-craft.blogspot.com/2010/07/sweaty-bands-knock-off.html), and I'm not much for the workouts, but I liked the idea very much of a no-slip headband, what with my slopey back-of-head and all.

The concept is basically that you sew velvet on the back of the cloth or ribbon, and that keeps it from slipping. I'm wondering about potential breakage with frequent and repeated use, but so far so good on my personal head (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=7480&pictureid=105277). I honestly have never had one of these that didn't slip, but this one really and truly stays put.

Has anyone else used or made one of these? How are you liking it?

I'm a little smitten at the moment, and I'm about to crank up the sewing machine to make about a half dozen for myself.

I have the same problem with headbands slipping. I made me a silk headband, but it won't stay put. Maybe if I put some velvet on the back it won't slip.
Thanks for the tutorial! Got to give it a try.

That looks so pretty - what a great sister! I have the same head-shape issue so I may look into these (although the lack of a sewing machine may hamper me, LOL)

It look so cute in the picture, what a great idea.

I'm a bit sewingly challenged myself so probably will never make one myself - perhaps you could make us all one :p
